Hi there,
I’m getting very annoying random ‘suicidal’ full pitch down inputs in this plane, on final, right after take off, at the worst times. It’s consistent, it’s only in WB-Sim’s version of the 172, not in the G1000 version, not in any other plane I fly. I use the new Honeycomb Alpha XPS yoke. (and Bravo Throttle)
It’s unrelated to trim. And you can see the yokes moving randomly forward aggressively in cockpit view, overriding my Honeycomb yoke momentarily.
Autopilot is off.
It’s usually recoverable, but barely.
I can’t find a place where to report bugs to WB-Sim effectively. Anyone knows? Thanks for your help.
(I’d also avoid their forums or interacting with the dev. I don’t know how weptburrito got a Just Flight partnership with this level of “customer service” ) Edit: Added emoji because I’m mostly joking, wb has plenty of helpful interactions elsewhere including these forums.
REF: The Wb-Sim C172 Enhancement Mod that is “Distributed” by Just Flight.
(1) The WB-SIM Discord is your best choice for Support on this product. On the WB-SIM discord server you can talk directly with the Plane’s developers, as well as with other WB-SIM C172 users.
(2) The MSFS forum is NOT the correct place to seek tech Support on a 3rd Party Dec’s Plane. If you do, expect a request to cease doing so from the Forum Mods.
(3) Yes, Just-Flight does offer support for the Products they sell, (not just for Just Flight team developed products), but they are not that familiar with the internals of 3rd party Products, so all that happens is that they start asking on the Dev’s Forum, and that is not nearly as efficient as the customer talking directly with the Devs on their Discord server,
(4) As far as Discord being a security risk – that’s up to you to decide, but if you do not link your Discord to any other services, its probably no more of a risk, than anything else you do on the Internet.
Your Choice - your Decision - all I will say as one of the WB-SIM Developers, is that you WILL get support on our Discord, if you chose to go there, and ask .
Note: the WB-SIM Discord does NOT require you to authenticate yourself with your Phone Number - we trust you –
-(as long as you behave and are civil to others there)
The Ummmmm,, reply was appropriate. (what else could have been said ?)
What could a C152 Mod have to do with a C172 Plane – and if it really did, there was no detailed description of what the issue was, or that it did not also affect the Standard Asobo C172.
Also, since the poster seems to “think” they have Fixed the problem, what more could be said, expect from maybe a questionable “Well fixed”
NOTE:
When I tried adding in the JPL C152 Mod, the WB-SIM C172 continued to keep functioning correctly, as it did before the JPL C152 Mod.
Fair response! I admit in my haste I thought he had a conflicting mod but now I realize that the 152 really should not have anything to do with the 172 as you said. Oops!
Thank you for your thorough reply.
After giving discord the email to register, they then drop you a ‘warning’ message that they need your phone number as well for your security. Right. If it behaves like spyware, then it probably is.
There’s no way of registering with discord without giving them your phone number, which opens a whole can of worms of security risks.
Now since you have read here anyway, please note my bug report from above, thank you.
(MSFS current version SU10, Windows 11 fresh install 22H2)
When the amphibian 172 was added to the sim in SU5, its landing gear initially didn’t work if you had the G36 Bonanza improvement mod installed. So nothing surprises me in terms of weird conflicts between add-ons.
Abbreviating my response to “if you don’t like Discord, just use the web form I linked.” The Discord argument isn’t going to really get anywhere, it’s just the go-to for everyone these days. I don’t disagree with your perspective entirely; I don’t like their Privacy Policy much either and wish it wasn’t “normal” to collect so much information from users. But I also don’t have deeply personal or identifying conversations on Discord for that reason, I use it to keep up with developers. I do recommend the Just Flight bug submission as the alternative for now.
The big advantage of Discord, for detailed tech support is that it supports both Text, Audio and Video communication.
To be able to have a two way voice conversation, while watching a Customer’s MSFS Screen, or desktop, makes Tech Support so much easier and efficient, than endless Forum posts, and misunderstanding.
BTW: Over 95% of all tech support help given by WB-SIM, have been to correct MSFS install configuration, PC O/S errors etc. Very few, if any, have been an issue with the actual Addon.
