Weather settings?

Hello,
yesterday i tried to train for Crosswind takeoffs.
For that i set the wether and mus see, there are the settings for the Wind in meter/second ???

IN the Options i have select the Hybrid System:

I did not found where i can change the Wind settings to knoten ??

Matthias

Ps: I tried the other systems like US System, which gives me Kt for the Wind, but then i have °f for the Temp and inches for the QNH.
Metric system is also wrong.

I find the wind speeds I get in the sim are much higher than those I select in the UI. Both are set to knots.

and the question was how to set the speed to knots ??

I’m pretty sure that 1 meter/second is almost equal to 2 knots, so not hard to do the maths.

 yes for sure, no problem.
But have you tried to set 7 m/s ( should be 15 kt ) .. but is much more, arond 30 kt wind as of Prosim.
I will try again another programm to confirm that, but it seems it is more then you set .

Maybe you or anyone have the PMDG or another Plane which shows the actual Wind and you can check what this Plane says if you set as exampe 7 m/s in MSFS ?

Thanks
Matthias

You can try a small util that adds Shift-Z capability that will show you the real wind at any time, just like in previous versions of the sim.

Check here.

thanks, will give it a try

You may try this way . I believe you cannot have wind in knots and other measurements in metric.

In FSX you could select “Hybrid” to have the Wind in Knots and the Alt in Feet, Weight in Kg’s

the tool works fine…thanks

Yes they’ve mucked up the conversion.

10 knots is 18km/hr, but they’ve set 10 km/hr as 18 knots!

And I agree, we need to be able to individually set units. US, ‘hybrid’ and metric doesn’t cut it!

There’s a bug list with the wind issue, there’s a bug thread.

Maybe add your vote?

To convert m/S to knots multiply by 1.944
