Well Bravo to the MSFS team here

Bravo to the team here, goes to show they are making great strides with the simulator despite some of the issues that still persists with the sim. Also shows to the ones who would say that MSFS is just a arcade game that MSFS is still a “simulator” in which it attempts to simulate real world flying even if the default aircraft does not make it seem like it or missing features. Obviously Boeing is not gonna use the sims default aircraft and create their own custom models, maybe this is the PMDG Enterprise project for you PMDG fans here that put the 737 Max on hold for consumers but that is a stretch and guess.

Boeing made the announcement that they will be utilizing the Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Flight Simulator as training tools. They have the 737 Max available and more models coming soon like the 777X, 787, and 737NG. Keep up the work guys and I am hopeful these upcoming sim updates will continue to elevate the sim.

From what I can read it is only using the virtual cockpit instruments as a training/familiarity tool, not simulating the actual flying (unless you can point it out to me)?

It is still a step up and shows the progress of the sim. Sure it is not used for flying, I am sure in order to do that they would need to create a “professional” version for that part.

Just like X-Plane has the consumer products and “professional” version which does obviously have differences between both. Same thing with P3D as well. Considering MSFS does not have a “professional” version from what we know of, the fact they are still using it for training purposes to get new or recurrent training on real world pilots in the aircraft shows that it is still getting better and is taken seriously for professional training.

I wonder if we’ll see bug-reports from Boeing!

From day 1 I knew they would take the underlining tech behind MSFS and spin it off. You don’t create a 1:1 model of the world just for one product.

CONGRATULATIONS!

That is wonderful news.

Cheers and best!

Wish other plane manufacturers would do something similar and partner with MS and Azure for a Boeing Virtual Airplane style solution for their aircraft.

I would like to see Gulfstream do one. They are however very tight lipped and do not allow consumer level study grade aircraft of their airplanes like Boeing or Airbus
