What device can I use for mfs2020 to run the game perfectly

Hello. I play mfs2020 on xbox now but I want to install some mods like the 737-800. So I need to use a pc or laptop, kind of that. Can someone show me a PC or a laptop what I realy need to run mfs2020 perfectly with no lag? Please

Thanks

Something like the Cray XC50 should do the job

You need a PC with the fastest CPU currently available (AMD or Intel doesn’t matter), 64GB RAM, 2 x 1TB NVME SSD and at least a RTX3080 or better a RTX4090.

at least an RTX 3080? err. sorry no

you will never get perfect with no stutters or lag. currently im flying in Greenland on an rtx 3060 its perfect but if i go to New York or London or add AI traffic its going to lose some performance, I’ve even read here people with 3090’s and 4090’s having poor performance and stutters that sound worse than what i get occasionally.
truth is so many thing will affect performance from complicated add on scenery down to even down your internet latency ( slow net ist going to be able to stream efficiently) , aircraft too will cost you performance JF BAE 146 i lose about 10 fps ive heard the fenex is laggy although i dont own it . so the answer is really build the best you can afford but never expect it to e utterly lag/stutter free the world over unless you have that super computer

Well I would tend to disagree.
I have a very old system, I7 3770, only 16 GB ram, and a 1070GTX card.
I have settings on high/ultra and have no stutters or lag.

Rtx3060, Ryzen 3700X (up to 5800X or even X3D for $$ more). 16GB of CL16 ram at 3200MHz or better.

Perfectly balanced up to 4k @ 30fps plus (using DLSS). Ultra graphics, LOD 300-400

There are so many variables that the perfect system doesn’t exist. People with low end systems can run it smooth, while people with high end systems seem to struggle. I would say buy the best you can afford and adjust your settings (and expectations) accordingly. If you go to pcpartpicker.com you can put together a virtual build to get cost estimates for parts, or tell us your budget and planned usage (1080p, 4k, vr, any other add-ons, etc) and maybe we could get something together.

About the only one universally true necessity is a big NVME drive. The game is massive and needs a fast data rate to load if you don’t want to be waiting forever. With all the updates and add-ons, it can easily chew up storage space. If only running one drive for everything, a minimum of 1TB would be my recommendation if not using the pc for much else. If installing on a secondary drive, you could get away with 500 GB for the main sim and a few add-ons, but it wouldn’t take much to push it close to the 1TB territory if you go add-on crazy.

I have to agree a separate drive for the content files is essential. NVMe notsomuch, SSD is fast enough but there’s no reason for sluggish HDDs except for storing stuff not being loaded into MSFS when you play.

Not a very informative coment
who are you replying to me or someone else? please use reply to or with quotes  and to say you have no stutters is exactly my point i don’t have any either under most circumstances but in others i do in others wherei have a ton of AI and somewhere like london with tons of PG and heathrow airport
the point is there is no way you can build a system that can guarantee you to be stutter free as that depends on so much

I can tell you aren’t used to these forums!
When the reply has no “addressed to” in there, it is a response to the post immediately above, in this case yours.

I have no stutters or lags using PMDG 737’s or FBW A320 and others, with FSLTL at default FSLTL settings (or AIG) and at any large airport, EGLL, EGKK, JFK, VHHH, YSSY(Fly Tampa) CYYZ (Fly Tampa), KBOS (Fly Tampa), etc.
So, it is possible to build a good rig, but I do agree, there is “no guarantee” that your build will give you the results you want,.

well i can tell you’re not used to reading posts as i actually said what you said no guarantee, to many variables i have no idea what exactly you were disagreeing with you see that’s why its good to quote, to be specific makes nonsensical posts like your previous and this one superfluous well i’m glad the original poster now has a huge range of option.
will agree though the 10X series are good i used a gtx1060 for a long time

There are many of us that have no stutters or lags.

I still get stutters on ultra settings with my Cray XC 45 sadly. :joy:

Yep - same on my IBM Watson!

4090, 13900k, fast ram, ssd etc
It’s all about TLOD especially if you’re looking to fly at a busy airport in a PG area airport in a complex liner with lots of traffic. The scenery developer has a lot to do with it too. Some seem to be a lot better at optimizing. Currently I can run TLOD 325 depending on the nvidia driver + msfs version without any stutters at many of the aforementioned airports by FT. ini KLAX still gives me a lot of issues. If I went down to TLOD 200 I’m pretty certain I could fly anywhere without stutters. TLOD 400 is where I’m trying to get to- IMO it really is nice in comparison to 200
On the other hand you could do TLOD 400 flying in smaller less complex aircraft. Personally I like complex airports in big citties with lots of traffic. Frame gen IMO does make a pretty big difference with smoothness / fluidity compared to my 3090 at the cost of a little artifact here and there when panning. Good luck!

The hardware does not exist to run the sim “perfectly”. IMHO the sim runs “acceptably” on quite modest hardware. I run i7-7820X, GTX1080Ti, 32G, SSD locked at 30FPS and the sim very seldom drops below the locked rate.

It all of course depends upon your definition of “acceptable”

I am certain it does
of course that doesn’t mean it will ‘out of the box’ so to speak.

Then you need better nitrogen cooling and a better internet connection to MSFS azure servers

The game or sim cannot be run perfectly no matter what kind of hardware you have, it has way too many pitfalls, different acft have different levels of accuracy in the sim, meaning several features, like buttons, switches, ect., are not modeled. It offers way too many incomplete and faulty planes, the big attraction here is the scenery and that is also victimized by servers performance, region of the world, users in line at same time, etc. What it works today may not tomorrow or after the next update. That is the nature of the beast, spending money to improve the game is not wise, settle on a certain level of hardware and learn how to tune it and compromise to enjoy this hobby. I might add that the main ingredient to this recipe is your internet connection, and fiber is the big winner here. I set myself up for this sim 2 months after the original release in 2020, I am still enjoying the sim with the same hardware. I have learned from this Forum a lot of tweaks and information to accomplish it, so my final thought on this subject is save some money for your retirement and enjoy this imperfect game or sim. There no perfect anything in life.

Lease some free resources to Azure. I am 100% sure the stuttering will go away. :joy:
