No not the PMDG Cloudmaster - today was time to test the CRJ.
Thanks to the HUD the CRJ can wonderfully be hand-flown and the landing was smooth as butter. Finally a big plane that can be fully hand-flown because of the HUD!
The CRJ feels just like the DCS F-18 and F-16 I am used to fly so much, of course not so nimble but very similar HUD layout.
The flight went perfect and thanks to the HUD being able to fully focus on the flight + landing and always having the flight speed and the flight path indicator in the middle of the screen, the landing was perfect too without any automatic thrust control.
Why no YouTuber ever uses this HUD is strange, but us jet pilots are sometimes declared “HUD cripples” because F-18 and F-16 pilots getting fully dependend on the HUD when flying.
I hope the PMDG will implement a HUD in their 737 too! Wow it will be awesome flying it!
