Not sure I understand the question, that is an acceptable flight within limits for a presumably IFR qualified pilot. It’s about 27-30NM as the crow flies, well within C172 capability.
Foggy day in the Antarctic today, so no flight from SAWH to EGAR. A day off!
In the meantime my factory is almost built at SAWH which can manufacture medical supplies, needed by EGAR base.
I also purchased a new aircraft, the SimWorks Studios Kodiak 100 in MSFS 2020, which looks absolutely superb, bought the cargo pod / tundra version in AH2 for my fleet. I need to ferry that to Rothera next week, it will be a huge flight in that with such a low cruise speed, but I want it there for local cargo runs to other Antarctic bases.
Now saving up for the PMDG DC6 (in AH2) so I can add it to my fleet and see if it can land at Rothera… that will be fun!
Enjoy your weekend all!
Finally got round to visiting the Lake District after a few weeks of RL getting the way of flying…well worth it.
No not the PMDG Cloudmaster - today was time to test the CRJ.
Thanks to the HUD the CRJ can wonderfully be hand-flown and the landing was smooth as butter. Finally a big plane that can be fully hand-flown because of the HUD!
The CRJ feels just like the DCS F-18 and F-16 I am used to fly so much, of course not so nimble but very similar HUD layout.
The flight went perfect and thanks to the HUD being able to fully focus on the flight + landing and always having the flight speed and the flight path indicator in the middle of the screen, the landing was perfect too without any automatic thrust control.
Why no YouTuber ever uses this HUD is strange, but us jet pilots are sometimes declared “HUD cripples” because F-18 and F-16 pilots getting fully dependend on the HUD when flying.
I hope the PMDG will implement a HUD in their 737 too! Wow it will be awesome flying it!
Sorry. I sincerely apologize. My question was supposed to be a joke. Guess it was a bad joke…sigh…
No apologies needed. I just didn’t know what you were asking, and didn’t want to be rude and not respond.
Nice Pics. Cool. Thanks. I hope the engine never fails you.
Thanks. I hope the engine holds too, not too many placss to dead stick it down there…
How did you find this? Where? How did you get out?
Flying cross country, VOR to VOR in the Cessna 152.
Started in Oceano, California and heading east, destination not yet known (maybe Key West, Florida).
Just landed in Waco, Texas.
Almost forgot how much fun VOR flying is.
Friday Harbor, Settings included for tech detail.
Smooth flight on airports like SFO i lower terrain lod sliders on approach keep objectslod above hundred, for buildings become important, trees and bushes medium to low for they are less important this give plenty headroom for around 24 to 30fps to stay less stutter free on approach.
This i do before at least 1000ft
On take off on heavy scenery airports i do vice versa, after 1000ft crack up
DA40NG (DANG) Adventure.
Some serious climbing ahead.
Hope the weather hold.
The weather did hold… but the mountains were higher than the aircraft alt ceiling. Had to re-route, find and divert to new airport. Quite a challenge for a Flatlander. My usual hunting ground are the coastal areas. Ah…these are West Papua Mountains. I am on the way to Maluku and Philippines
Aw even the christmas tree is shaped like the turbine compressor stages of the engine core! Wonderful!
