Excerpt from my I-90 Coast-to-Coast tour of the northern US.
Leg 4: Spaulding Aerodrome (Sinclairsville NY) to Concord Airport (Painesville OH)
Nice short transit of two states - PA and OH along the shoreline of Lake Erie. 97nm 0:44:00 enroute.
Departing Spaulding Aerodrome - it was a lot longer on landing it seemed. The treeline was awfully close on pitch-up.
Passing the northern end of Chatauqua Lake. Sectional shows a seaplane base on the Eastern Side, but it wasn’t visible on our pass.
Flying past Erie, PA and the International airport.
Nice day, little wind, but a lot of glare from the sun.
Passing the City of Ashtabula (cool name) - the last stop for freed slaves on the underground railroad before they made it to the sanctuary of Canada.
You got to love the detail of the overheads in Bing Maps when you can see the markings on the football field for the Lakeside Dragons, the Ashtabula City High School athletic team.
On approach to Concord Airport - at least this one has designated ramp spots, and I can get some logbook credit.

Beaumont to Galveston in the Seneca, taking a close look at Houston along the way. The recent update to the Seneca seems to have improved the default cockpit viewpoints somewhat.
After arriving in Galveston I took my first test spin in the CRJ, to Victoria and back. Longer trips will be forthcoming, but my first impression was a good one, and I have Working Title’s CJ4 mod to thank for a lot of that, because they both use basically the same model of avionics, which makes them feel like members of the same family. In some ways the CRJ’s control layout is more convenient, such as the knob to control the zoom range of the map display (which is near impossible to reach on the CJ4, it keeps thinking I want to change the tilt angle of the weather radar instead), but in other ways it reminds me very strongly that the CRJ was designed for two pilots instead of one, such as how far horizontally the autopilot controls are spread out.

Seeing (and trying to land on) all the various sports fields never gets old to me!
I did a fly over of Galveston a few weeks back. It was super detailed! I highly suggest flying in a slower plane and fly close to the ground to see all the detail. The pyramids and theme park were done really well!

Finished my 4 part series of flying over Daytona Beach. Daytona Beach was very detailed and one of the more fun cities to fly over. I could have done it in 3 parts though as the Northwest section wasn’t level 3 detail like the rest of the city was.
It’s “cute” when I fly over a miniature golf course.

Oh yeah, in between flying in Daytona Beach, I watched this cool video recommended by youtube-
After watching that video, I was going to mimic his flight but it would have taken more than an hour, so instead I just tried to land at the same time he did in the video. If I took my time and tried a few times I’m sure I could have timed it to where we touchdown at the exact same time, but I was just playing around having fun.

I think you somehow posted my post on your post. What the???
Flew from VNKT to VIDP in the BN2 Islander, most of the journey skirting the foothills West.
On approach at Delhi, I had a 55kt headwind. Instead of coming in with only the first stage of flaps, I wanted to see how slow I could come in. I think I landed at just under 10kts GS, VTOL-like.
According to Windy.com:
METAR
15m ago:
Wind 270° 5kt. Visibility 1800m. RVR runway 28 is greater than 2000m. RVR runway 29 is greater than 2000m. Mist. Clouds few 10000ft. Temperature 25°C, dew point 20°C. QNH 1006hPa. Becoming: Visibility 1500m. Mist.
So live weather, but the wind was way off. The clouds seemed spot on, and the wind direction was pretty accurate, but 50kts faster than reality.
Looking back through the chart for that weather station, the closest wind speed I can see to what I saw in the sim was May 16th, at 40kts.
