What did you do in MSFS today? (Part 1)

To be able to fly into this city, you have to pull a few strings… :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

First safe landing at Lukla! After updating to the latest version, I took the turbo arrow to Lukla. I’ve spent a few evenings trying to land here, but always starting from Khatmandu. . Having crashed 3 times, I realized my problem was always too much altitude, upon entering the valley for Lukla. Tonight I started in a teeny strip south of Lukla (VNPL) and approached Lukla via the river valley and so I could cruise at 10300’, and the landing was pretty easy. So I feel an accomplishment!

Each to their own, I too live in Australia and happy they have updated scenery and increased Australia’s part in the sim. Looks pretty good. That said there are few glaring deficiencies. I fly globally except USA at present (later)

Which area or the Reef were those great scenes? I had really blurry scene around the Capricorn / Central areas.

These were taken just north of Cairns.
Haven’t had time to check other areas.

I don’t fly in the USA either. Just Europe and the middle east for me. USA would be a total waste of SSD space.

I completed my first full IFR flight (without skipping any of it) and landing in very tough weather conditions. Took off from Heathrow EGLL and flew out to Paris Charles de Gaul LFPG, in the default A320neo. The flight out over England was lovely nice tail wind with good visibility not much cloud cover for a majority of Southern England and over the English Channel. Most of France was pretty cloudy but still had a good view though. As I descended lower and lower thats when the weather decide it wanted to challenge me so to speak. Very low visibility due to the heavy rain clouds, when I finally made it to the landing stage I was battling a strong head wind blowing me off course as I lined up with runway 26R. I was going to wait until I reached 200 feet before going around, luckily I managed to see the runway as I approached the 200 mark the runway lights started to come into view so I managed to land albeit not one of my smoothest touchdowns, a bumpy one that bounced down the runway but I still landed never the less

FACT-FALE A320NEO FL390 1310z 010222

Lovely bug-free flight in South Africa. Cape Town to Durban via the UQ12 airway. Total flight time 1hr46m.

Real world weather was spot on other than TCU on the METAR yet clear skies. Enroute weather had high cloud tops and turbulence in the 3rd quarter on the flight, which was correct according to visible sat photo.

Cape Town (FACT) was handcrafted and looked good enough without excessive detail causing a CTD.

Do you have coordinates for that spot? TY :100: :+1:

I feel it. Flights from Andrews AFB to Edwards AFB and back are tens of gigs on my rolling cache. I deviate for a while constantly too.

The drunken autopilot bug.
It gets confused and rolls when looking down at FMC and also when not in cursor mode. Just need to make sure you’re not in cursor mode and make a corrective bank back on course.

It’s north-west of Sydney  One of the new POI on the map, can’t remember the name

Making my way east across Texas in a Texan. Gorgeous morning flying out of Dryden. I tried to sneak in behind a weather system moving over San Antonio. Nope. Had to divert from Sonora to Big Lake, and even then I was busting the VFR minimums. My approach was ugly too. I should have just diverted again.

It cleared out this afternoon and I continued on to Junction and nailed it that time. I’m really getting a hang of pattern speeds, power, and flap settings in this thing. It’s quickly becoming one of my favorite planes in the sim because of the way it handles in the air and its aesthetics in the cockpit.
