They sent a Kodiak to get me to Goodyear but I have to fly it (my sim kept crashing trying to load the Junkers JU52) so I’m now starting and ending a around the world tour at Goodyear using the default 787
Highlights of Lisboa during my Deconstructed Portugal Bush Trip…
Tour tip - the Photogrammetery areas in World Update 8 are enormous - Lisboa is very well mapped and rendered. Take a drone tour of the city (hold down the F6 key a few seconds to increase drone translation speed) and see the great details.
Yes, I couldn’t help but recreate the loading page photo.
Soundcheck in the day/Check out at night, shot.
The Grand Opera House, Wilmington, DE, USA - Night.
Such a shame too, as irl, this place is all lit up and beautiful and colourful.
Delaware has nice detail, at least, my part of it.
Touching base with Delaware again, probably the first time I’ve seen it all since being there/2001, was cool, thank you MSFS.
But it was time to go.
We left 11:40 pm ish, dropped my friend of the family off at around around 11:45 pm /ish and I remember asking KWILG to land soon after and landing at 11:50 pm.
And climbing aboard at 11:55 pm, I remember that much.
I went to my place in New Jersey by way of Fort Dix, a place known by my family anyway so this was normal for me but I got to map it because my mapping tool’s heard of it, yay, everybody wins.
New Caste ILG/KILG McGuire WRI/KWRI a.k.a Fort Dix, New Jersey.
Live flight, not long, no skipping required, saw Philadelphia on the way.
My private jet’s in Fort Dix, I haven’t been here since 2001.
“Welcome back to base, Son.”
My private jet’s in Fort Dix, I’m at mine in Seaside Heights, in the game, landed at 00:45 am/ish.
Yeah, it felt good to be back, y’know The King/Elvis once stopped here when he was in the services…
But it was off in the night.
23NM… Easily the longest flight I’ve done in my VoloCity, but I did it/wanted to do it, see it for myself, again.
Reminds me of this idea I have after I finish this tour.
It reminds of from Dover to Calais distance across the English Channel back home, so I flew it.
Enjoyed it too, fun little thing, and this VoloCity is great for exploring cities and whatnot, I guess that’s why it has city in the name, so don’t hate.
So I got to mine in NJ, which is in Seaside Heights, NJ; saw that bridge that connects it to the mainland, remember they have this see airstrip there but I didn’t want to use it to get here because I doub’t my mapping tool had it, so I used my VoloCity all the way from my private jet which is at Fort Dix to get here, made it around 00:54 am last night.
Now, irl, this is no more.

YAY!!!
See it/capture it while I can!
My place in New Jersey, ladies in gentlemen.
I buzzed about the local a bit even though it was night and I was now on my downtime here on my World Tour and will be here until Satuday and would have enough chance to in the day, I was happy to be here again - and I have one show on the board walk here too, so, I’d be working Friday Night, I’d be buzzing it here retracing and buzzing, again.
Saw this motel I used in 2001 one night on the way to mine though.
Buzzed the local.
Came home, at like 1 am.
It’s got okay detail considering this place got washed away in Hurricane Sandy/fell victim to that.
Am in Seaside Heights in this game and my private jet’s back at Fort Dix ready to take me to NYC Saturday where I’d be reunited with my main stage again. I’ve got this other stage for my show in Seaside Heights, NJ, my local, like somebody said I could play Willow Grove, PA or Thornton Heath, Surrey, I’m playing Seaside Heights, NJ, and am looking forward to that, but first, I’m on down time catching up with the place.
I also bought some DLC liveries for the Airbus A320Neo because I worked out it should be fine for range to get to Mexico from New York City this Sunday - So I’m looking forward to that.
I booked first-class tickets with American Airlines tonight to get to Mexico, business class with Aeromexico Connect to move around Mexico and then first-class back to the US and then from Salt Lake City, UT to Eugene OR with Delta and then first-class with Delta again home from this first leg of my World Tour in North America to get back to England/London which’ll be from Minneapolis/St. Paul. Me and my private jet’s going to part ways a bit in New York City and it’s going to stay in America and fly from JFK/KJFK to EUG/KEUG ready for when I need it again.
I booked
1 x American Airlines first-class ticket
1 x AeroMexico Connect business class ticket
3 x Delta first-class tickets
then I went to bed.
After spending the winter in Florida like aging Canadians tend to do, I returned to my home airport of CYGK for the warmer months where I can once again fly GA aircraft at will without them freezing up on me.
While this won’t sound too special to a lot of folks, I did it in a single, 3.25 hour flight, which officially makes this my longest MSFS flight to date. Normally, I tend to fly shorter 60-90 minute routes at most. Even when doing cross-continent flights, I tend to do it in short hops like this. So this was a rather long flight for me. I enjoyed it, but that said, I still prefer doing shorter flights and wouldn’t do this on a regular basis.
I decided to deliver some supplies to Galena, Alaska, in the PMDG DC-6.
Everts Air Cargo is based in Fairbanks so that’s where I departed from.
The SID was fairly simple and consisted of an initial heading followed by a left turn towards Fairbanks VOR.
The Yukon river seems to be frozen this time of year.
I flew VFR after the SID so I’m using a separate laptop for Skyvector to make sure my planned course and altitude is safe and I’m not flying into mountains.
Unfortunately MSFS decided to put fog in Galena despite reports of clear skies which really messed up my approach. It’s just an RNAV approach with no vertical guidance so all I could do was trying to follow the GPS needle and pray I wasn’t too low or too high.
It seems I was too low and had to add power and reduce flaps in order to not crash in the forest. Of course I was then too fast and landed way too late as you can see on my last picture. Such a shame the flight was ruined by excessice fog introduced in one of Asobo’s latest sim updates.
Flew from Nelson (NZNS) to Wellington (NZWN) in the RV-14 …
… and had a quick spin around Wellington in the C172
Various shot of flights between the low fps no connection sessions and the low fps ones. These were from the 3 or 4 sessions that didnt happen on:
Decided to try to re-create the highest-altitude fixed-wing landing on record: A Pilatus PC-6T TurboPorter landed at 18,860ft on the Dhaulagiri glacier in the Himalaya.
Approaching the mountain, it’s pretty distinctive, wreathed in thin cloud:
Turning up the glacier valley…
Windshield icing up, but we’re base to final on the landing area (there’s no sense of scale up here, this mountain is so huge. That looks like a small area, but it’s enormous.)
I reinstalled Flight Sim after about a two month break. So, after a four hour wait, while everything downloaded, I hopped back in the cockpit of my trusty A32NX at gate 162 in Aerosoft’s new Brussels Airport (Good God, is it ever a magnificent add-on!). Ready for my first flight back at Brussels Airlines to Birmingham.
Take-off from 07L went smooth untill ATC requested FL420… I mean, they should know an Airbus A320 can’t climb that high, right? Also FL420 for a 45 minute flight is just insane… So I ignored that and cruised at FL250.
During the approach at Birmingham, the autopilot refused to lock the glideslope untill I manouvered the airplane under the Diamond, then it locked on… Weird stuff…
I was feeling a bit rusty, so I wanted to touch the plane down manually and I’d like to apologize to the passengers, because it was a rough one at a droprate of -290fpm…
We arrived at the terminal and I was happy with my first short flight back. Stable framerates, no real hitches and no CTDs! Dare I come back tomorrow? 🫣
Day 1 of a shoreline counter-clockwise circumnavigation of the Great Lakes starting at CYGK Kingston, ON… a nice view of Toronto and later Niagara Falls.
LXGB to LPPT (Gibraltar to Lisbon)
A320 FBW
For some reason the init requiest didn’t load the full flight plan but it was nice and easy to program the mcdu in VR as I had the flight plan on the efb.
The AP flew the approach so well I felt bad when disconnecting the AP at 500ft for landing.
Nice landing and taxi. Love the pax audio and captain announcements too with the delta livery.
Cool! My home airport!
Cool idea though of circumnavigating the great lakes.
Today I did a Canary Islands trip (Fuerteventura-Tenerife) in the DC-6.
I passed Maspalomas at FL120.
In the distance we can see the volcano of Teide, the highest peak in Spain.
Approaching GCTS.
I found a parking spot next to two other DC-6s. How random!
Flying the Junkers JU52 to Long year from BGMI after making the decision to not give up on it because it an awesome aircraft , think we’d ever get an FW 200 condor as a future historic aircraft from Asobo to complete the WW2 dictator aircraft set?
C152 - Put some sunset screenshots tonight, along the Dutch coast with nice real time weather…
It got quite dark, no suitable airfield near
… don’t see anything at EHCA, completely dark… decided to fly to Amsterdam Schiphol (EHAM)
I went shopping, bought a bunch of DLCs.
Concorde
Spitfire (AI can’t seem to taxi or land it)?!
Boeing 777-300ER (to match my Boeing 777-200ER)
and a bunch of liveries +sound? for the A320.
If they ever get an A330 with a US Airways livery, I’d be like;
And my VoloCity decided to stop working again the other day before these DLCs, so instead of buzzing Seaside Heights NJ, I’m jetting around and having buyer’s remorse on that Spitfire because it taxis into the asphalt nose first and lands short of the runway and is a b’ to pull up and rescue it from its landing.
So far, I fly jets and VoloCity with ease, and propellers and me aren’t happening; I either crash on the landing in my beloved seaplane that comes with the basic version of this game, or AI crashes my Spitfire for me.
Question, if I ever decide to purchase the PC version of this (let’s say I’d have a PC good enough for argument’s sake in that scenario)… Do I just sign in on my Xbox Profile email address or something and I get to use all the DLCs I purchased on Xbox on the PC platform too?
How does that work, if anybody knows.
Yes your marketplace purchases will transfer like that. On the Spitfire it’s a tail dragger and these need to be taxied, take off and landing differently to most other planes. Check out the main Spitfire thread on here for lots of good tips on how to use it, it’s fun to learn and even more fun to fly when you get the right technique. Also they have a manual for download on the flying iron website you can search for. As to the AI I’ve never used it but it wouldn’t surprise me if that gets it all wrong.
