What did you do in MSFS today? (Part 1)

Its a very nice city. The PG is so good you can actually make out crowds on the beach too.

Because it remains fully impossible to reinstall repair uninstall or do literally ANYTHING with the no longer functional Game Pass and Gaming Services launcher - I have bought it on problem-free DRM-free Steam

For the glory of the new electric-driven Discus glider!

P.S.
Also in the Steam version I am registered as Gaming Cat so the airplanes bought in the Marketplace will also be available in the Steam version.

Its just default Asobo A320neo

I want to use the FBW mod but on this old computer it struggles a lot and I get very low FPS! I was reading about Fenix, thats some serious study level thing there.

Also wont be back on until after the Canada Day weekend….

Before I switched to stick flying, fighters old and new, and the HYPE helos, I flew the FBW exclusively. I still update it, and, when I get a better yoke, I may fly the commercial jets again.

Here’s to the tech-spirits bringing you a new, superfast set up to handle what’s coming.

Cheers!

Some really nice detail in the rock in your video. I wish all the mountains looked that good in the sim.

Thank you. Yes, you are right. I hope they keep working and updating the DEM in every update. This one really is spectacular.

Do watch this one too of Mount Rainier:

Took part in the ‘Seaside Dash’ event today - this Isles of Scilly scenery from Superspud really is top-notch!

A short flight from Hachijo-jima to Tokyo Haneda.

Leaving Hachijo-jima, a volcanic island

Descending and passing over the Japanese coast, Kamogawa

On final, LDA approach.
From this point on, autopilot OFF and you have to proceed visually, LOC is offset (55°) and then you will land on the short runway 22

I bought a Hotas to play on Xbox. Spent the day learning a lot about getting it work and doubting I’d done the right thing. Eventually took the top gun jet for a spin. Learned to apply an Afterburner setting and omg I’m going to play a lot of MSFS this year.

Tried a second flight with the A320 FBW, from EBLG (Liege) to LSGG (Geneva).

Went mostly smooth. My take-off didn’t result in > 300 kts acceleration because I pitched the nose up to a more correct attitude.

Everything, even the DESC was going smoothly until somehow I disable the Auto Thrust. The result was that my speed was dropping quickly and I didn’t understand why. I then started climbing extremely hard, while still having 150 kts. I was back from 8000 to 19000 ft when I finally realised the Auto Pilot AND the Auto Thrust were disabled somehow. And I was trying to control stuff with the auto pilot … once again, stupid.

Anywaaay. I somehow managed to be at the correct altitudes after all, locked on to the glideslope and came in for a good landing.

It’s the Auto Thrust that is very new that is always throwing me off. But it was better!

Looks like I’m not the only one that doesn’t know what they’re doing:

Spotting EBST (Brustem, Sint-Truiden)

Spotting, my house

Spotting EBLG

Spotting the power plant of Tihange

Everything went well, but now, “something’s wrong”:

Back at 8000 ft but still haven’t realised my Auto Thrust is disabled …

After that scary situation, good thing I only had 10 brave passengers with me, the approach is quite scenic here at Geneva:

I replaced my failing CPU cooler with a new one this afternoon, then inaugurated things with a leisurely 40 minute flight from KBUR to KLAS, and since it’s Independence Day Weekend here in the United States, what better livery to use? And to top it off, the new CPU cooler is working great (i7-11700KF, clocking up to 4.9Ghz).

Thank you very much!
Saving up for a new rig!

Really great shots and I like how you presented them in that grid.
