What did you do in MSFS today? (Part 1)

Flew from Saint Pierre to Sydney… just not the one in Australia

Being in Canada I checked out some landmarks too

The fort seems pretty generic to me

“Please confirm I can really park my plane here…”

Did a flight on Iceland from BIKR to BIIS (Isafjordur) in the King Air. First time I approached I couldn’t see anything, so flew the missed approach. Luckily during the second approach there was a moment of clarity. So I was able to land.
Few minutes after I landed the dark clouds with rain moved into the bay again.

3 x flights today, ending on this one - Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport (KGPT) to Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (KCLE).

Nice butter smooth flight, then over the top of what is left of Hurricane Ian, before descending through the edge of it into relatively clear skies.

I experienced a “runway illusion” today. I approached a very narrow runway that appeared farther away than it actually was.

Another lesson learned from the safety of my simulator!!!

:grinning:

Flew into Ted Stevens International.

Was that in real life or the sim? looks amazing in that region.

Took off from LAX a bit ago and had someone taxiing right behind me in another V-Tail Bonanza and we ended up flying in formation for a bit.

Whoever you are, didn’t know you were planning to land at Burbank but I caught up after a minute. That was fun

Getting my IFR hours in - Arrival at KMRY (Monterey Regional, CA) - RNAV-Y 28L is an offset approach - you have to manually turn to 280M just before the last waypoint and line up with the runway.

Got wind of world update Canada just now after being out of the sim for a few weeks so updating. I had no idea it was the plan. Sure nice to see that Canadian flag when loading. Been waiting patiently for 2 years for this one and to have CYCG as an update and landing challenge! Beauty! Also looks like some nice fixes to the mandatory update that have been plaguing my experience. Gonna have to fire it up after the F1 race tomorrow. 5am!

Was wondering how to step up my simming, so I checked Vatsim site and found it a bit too much for now, so just decided to remove ATC assist for now and as such flew from Sydney (CYQY) to Greater Moncton Intl (CYQM) starting cold and dark.

I even got an achievement in the end:

By the way it would be nice to have some kind of a roadmap on how to gradually increase realism of flight . I was looking for it on the forums and google but couldn’t really find such a topic or guide. Do you know of any?

Well, yesterday, I was finally able to get the Turtle Beach Yoke. It’s really good, but I’m sadly going to have to return it.

The setup process was an anxiety inducing nightmare, but i got it figured out…after an hour and a half.

My current setup doesn’t really allow for a comfortable experience (sitting on a couch, and can only set the yoke on a table that only comes up an inch or two below the knee when sitting) among other things. Being $400 USD isn’t cheap either.

It’s a long story.

I’ll definitely pick one up again when I sort things out.

Try PilotEdge VFR Communications and Airspace Training (CAT) Program - PilotEdge.net

Live ATC and other real time pilots making calls, but they have a nice “rating” system that introduces scenarios which progressively increase the level of complexity. For example the first flight / rating is non-towered to non-towered. Their scenarios will eventually work you through Really complex IFR navigation. Do as many of them as many times as you like before moving on. (I did)

I’m only through CAT-9 maybe (?) but I worked the comms on my FIRST FLIGHT out of my local, towered Class D!!! PilotEdge is a legit skill-builder.

Edit: The flight region is limited to the US west coast. That’s not where I’m from but it’s such a great tool I was ok with it.

Thanks, I will try that :+1:

Epic topic; need to comment; pattern work at Bermuda this morning in Piper Warrior!
