What did you do in MSFS today? (Part 1)

I continued my trip around Australia in C172. On my way from Portland YPOD to Melbourne (YMEN) I was passing by Apollo Bay and clouds were stunning. Little challenge for VFR, but wonderful views.

And in Melbourne it was nice and sunny :sunny:

Then I was requested go-around because of an aircraft at runway. And I could see this.

I gave the airliners another try, to see if the recent hotfix improved things.

Not really, still worse performance than before SU3 on top of the usual issues. The A320 wouldn’t stop messing with the trim. AP off, several times, off off off, nope still trimming. Urgh, just push through it with the stick, land with 80% trim up, fun.

787-10 would not turn off auto thrust. I have the mouse hovered over the button with says turn off, click, nothing, click click click. Will not disengage. (I never turned it on in the first place) AP is definitely off. And it just turns up the thrust more while I have the spoilers and flaps deployed. So shut down the engines, glide on to the runway, no reverse thrust of course, ■■■■ landing at about 5 to 10 fps.

Back to the Bonanza that doesn’t try to kill me on landing.

Flathatting Harland & Wolff’s Samson & Goliath

One of the new POIs from the UK Scenery Update is the famous Harland & Wolff Shipyard in Belfast, Ireland. H&W made the ill-fated White Star Liner RMS Titanic. At the shipyard today are two of the world’s largest movable crane gantries, nicknamed Samson and Goliath. It’s not too hard to fly UNDER these gantries, so for those of you missing your bridge stunt days, feel free to try it with a 747!

I’ve been checking out the 748 as I’ve read so much about it not working right (similar discussions to 7810). This is why I stick to GA or prefer a payware model. Do you hear me, PMDG and Quality Wings???

the payware?

Finished my westward around the world flight. Eight days. Started at Reno (KRNO) and landed today at Reno. Fun!

This is stock Photogrammetry from the sim. No add-ons.

Just a quick trip to see Venice. There are a couple of cruise ships there. Celebrity Silhouette and a Princess. Is the city really that congested?

By accident I spawned at Toronto City airport instead of Pearson, wanting to give the 747-8 another go. A bit short to take off, but didn’t want to reload. I love reverse thrust!

Spin up engines, release brakes, plenty room!

It did turn on auto speed again but I think I found the right button now to get rid of it. The thrust and speed mode buttons don’t work but arm auto throttle does! Maybe I can land now without having to turn off the engines

I had a good landing (VFR) in Chigago despite fps going down to 5 and runway tears

As I sit on the runway memory goes down, fps back up. Still far lower than on departure. These airliners fly to fast for my system to keep up. The landing speed of this is pretty much the top speed of the plane I usually fly!
