Pre-flew the first leg of my forthcoming flight from KFNL (northern Colorado regional) to KLAS (Las Vegas). I’ll do this to select fixes that are safer, airports to use as pit-stops, etc. For example, the most direct course took me toward a mountain range in the middle of a large plateau… To the left was on course while to the right added 5 minutes. It ALSO added a nice Class D airport, access to restaurants and an expressway to follow!
