Fun with Parallel 42 KitFox at Mexican Mountain. I made a very, very short landing. Love the design of the flaperons, and it’s got lots of power to climb. The cockpit view is great, too. The area is beautiful to fly over, it’s fun to imagine camping out in the simulated world.
Just watch out for the simulated grizzlies and wildcats!
Next 2 legs of Rijeka to Santorini bush-trip in WB-Sim C172 with real weather: LGKR LGPZ LGMS
Weather was nice, few clouds with ok wind. Just I had to fly through military airspace (LGPZ is military airbase), but luckily no airforce trainings on Friday.
I have been flying from GASO Dignangan, Sikasso, Mal to GOOY Leopold Sedar Senghor, Dakar, Senegal
via various airfield ( GANF, GAGM, GQNM, GQNC) giving me the opportunity to see various layer of africa
After 18 months on xbox I spent my spare time building a PC this week. Then I spent nearly 24 hours downloading MSFS and my marketplace addons, thanks to the unreasonably slow MSFS download servers.
Then finally the fun bit! I hopped into my vision jet for a scenic flight from EGLC over to EGLL with all of the Orbx scenery installed. The sim defaulted to Ultra on my machine and I left it there. I liked what I saw, big visual upgrade compared to my series X.
Congrats on the new system!!!
Quick hop from Nadi to the otherside of the island, Nausori. First run in a downpour on the approach. Thank goodness for the SVS.
Usually this is backwards lol
Usually switching to 3rd person feels like cheating, but in this regard you went the more honest route.
CABRI G2 IN SCOTLAND
I’ve been fine tuning my VR with Quest 2 headset configuration and decided it was time to give it a serious test by flying the Cabri G2 helicopter in Scotland to pre-flight Monday’s Aussie Group Flights Team: Scotland North Coast 500 - Glasgow to Glensanda (They fly the Tiger Moth tail-dragging bi-plane, that I am not qualified in.)
There are a lot of folks that claim “once you fly VR you’ll never fly in 2D again”, and I have really been keeping an open mind during the last two weeks of tweaks, restarts, reboots, and re-tweaks. The VR setup stayed alive for the entire 1 hour 40 minute flight, and demonstrated what my setup can do in the type of helicopter flying I enjoy when no one is around.
I created a 4 minute Quest 2 VR vs 2D comparison from the flight:
Really beautiful countryside:
Ladies and gentlemen, let’s experience midnight in Norway. I finished last 2 legs of Norway bush-trip in WB-Sim C172 in real weather: ENSH ENTC ENSR
It is 4 days before summer solstice and I previously crossed arctic circle on the trip. So I got up a bit early 6:00 Singapore time (0:00 Norway time). I was hoping to see sun all the time (no sunset), but mountains ruined my experience. Or did they? I think they made it rather spectacular.
Take-off time was 0:50 Norway DST. Keep in mind that DST is 1 hour ahead and this time was 10 minutes before actual midnight. So exactly, when the sun was the lowest. And yet, there was still more sun than at the same time in Singapore 6:50, it’s really dark here just 10 minutes before sunrise.
The airport is at the island, but I cannot see it because of the sun reflection:
And after landing 2 hours later, the sun was still hiding behind mountains.
Both landings were nice butter. But I didn’t brief myself on approach slope and both airports had steep approach: 4°. So I was rather low on final. I realized that, when I saw PAPI lights.
well as usual I will share you my yesterday flights …
I kept progressing in my disrespect USA tour doing some LIDL promotional flight in VIP restricted area
from vermont back to boston then, to New jersey ! trying to fly by most stadium
then for my afternoon I did the patagonian bush trip
another pilot has accompanied me on a stretch of the road
Picked up FlyingIron’s Bf 109 yesterday, it’s gorgeous!
The engine modeling is very detailed and I keep breaking things; so far every time I’ve had a question I’ve found the answer in the manual. I’m really enjoying this add-on.
Beware they have lovingly custom-modeled the free-castering tailwheel – this thing is a bear to taxi but the way it behaves actually makes sense, like according to physics!
Test joyride from Orange County (KSNA) to Burbank (KBUR):
Aerobatics over the O.C.
Engine started sputtering and spewing smoke; from reviewing the footage I think I left the radiator flaps fully closed instead of on auto and it overheated the oil until something just broke.
You can’t declare an emergency, so ATC is all “go around” at this point. I’m not sure the engine’s gonna survive a go-around, buddy.
Whoops! Braking error.
Boise-Seattle, clouds were everywhere. Didn’t take pictures during the approach because of poor visibility, at least I spotted Mt. Rainier while descending
Next leg in Greece bush-trip in WB-Sim C172 with real weather. Today landing at small grass-strip LGMS LGAK
