What did you do in MSFS today? (Part 2)

Enjoyable flight in the PA-28 Comanche 250 from Twentynine Palms (KTNP) over the Mojave Desert to Las Vegas International (KLAS):

Two recent flights: I saw photographs of the Brazil Emerald Sand Dunes (the Lençóis Maranhenses National Park) online and it looked so outrageous I just had to go check it out in the Bonanza:

The sim does not totally do it justice but it is still pretty spectacular in my opinion.

Then I flew the CJ4 from Terme (LICA) in Italy to Basel Mulhouse Freiburg (LFSB). The following are some of the nicest vistas that I noticed along the route I thought

I really enjoy the diverse experiences with different aircraft in different locations.

I had a heck of a flight from Angers to Nantes in the Pipistrel Virus which is a plane I love but I can’t wait for WT or somebody to fix its avionics.
I intended to check out PG in both cities but live weather had other plans for me. It started out with a moderately dark and low sky with a strong wind out of the west:

and, as I climbed, it got brighter and brighter until I broke out and flew towards my destination. I tuned in ATIS and it said expect landing on 23 (or was it 21?) so I headed for the northeast side of the airport and as I got closer I called up approach procedures and chose the only RNAV21 available and the next thing I know I’m supposed to go south 39 miles out of my way and then back north again…really should checked that approach before I left… bt the sun was setting and it wsa making the clouds look great so I was fine with it

and then I descended into the murk and it got darker and started raining so heavy, the raindrops were about all I could see

I was landing with a strong headwind - do you see the runway?

raining so hard it was hard to see an exit

boy it was fun!

Now you see it…

Now you don’t…

I joined the world of MSFS modding to remove the infuriating terrain spike visible from Adelaide. My first upload to flightsim.to.

I celebrated with a lovely flight in my vision jet from YPAD to Kangaroo Island YKSC. I accidentally left my camera in the car so no pics of that one.

I can’t speak highly enough of Geoff D’s rendition of Kingscote airport, it’s up there with the best payware quality but is a free download, always a pleasure to land there.

and flying over Olympic National Park, ignoring the “winter wonderland” near Olympic Mountain

finally making a safe landing in Sekiu (11S)

I haven’t been there in a while, so I’m headed West to the Johnson Space Centre. Sometimes the live weather can be a little underwhelming, and then other times you just need to bask when it does a good job.

As July came to a close, I thought I’d see how Goose flying would suit me now - with not water turning ability or differential engine function on my old throttles, it was not satisfying. Had to buy the Big Radials and was glad for the rudder function to be able to turn on the water. Wish there were more seaplane bases in the area for starting a flight. Still, flew from Long Beach to the Channel Islands to Pebbly Beach at the south end of Santa Catalina. Got well acquainted with the Big Radials Goose.

Tonight I found myself drawn to Nelson New Zealand to see if the airport updates to fix issues with PG were successful – and they were…looks good. Weather was also pretty amazing. I was glad to see a mostly solid 13,000 foot overcast but the texture of it wasn’t quite right. But it was still good…quite good imo. landed at NZWN with strong south-ish wind.

after I landed and parked (if you don’t apply the parking brake, the wind will blow your plane away!) I noticed that there were traces of rain at the airport. I had passed through a little rain north of the airport but it wasn’t raining there. I mean, we started with stick figures and four colors and now we have PG and persistent rain. The sim is quite impressive.

Today I took a nice scenic flight through the Indonesian volcanic mountains in the CJ4. Nothing too strenuous, just firewall the throttle so I don’t have to mess with it during flight and can better enjoy the views. Not a bad parking job at the end, either.

BTW, anyone know why I keep hearing a disembodied voice saying, “500” over and over?

Finally got to check out the updated HondaJet from Ottawa (CYOW) - Toronto (CYYZ)

I’ve been waiting for this update quite a while, I really missed having charts on the MFD and altitude callouts on landing.

I finished Grand Alpine challenge (bushtrip) in WB-Sim C172 in real weather. Today it was last short leg LOWZ :airplane: LOXA

I planned to do the last leg already on Monday. But area around Zell am See is very beautiful, so I decided to stop there and do some hiking. But yesterday it rained all day, so no hiking, and I couldn’t fly either.
