Switched down from Ultra to High and TLoD/OLoD down to 100, doubled my frame rates, low 40s to high 50s. Still looks awesome on ARC 770 DX12.
Prince Rupert Canada to Victoria Canada in the ATR 42 600
Did a practice flight in the 787-10 from Athens Eleftherios Venizelos (LGAV) to Istambul Atatürk (LTBA):
For a practice flight it was quite okay, I deliberately chose to fly from ATC controlled area to uncontrolled airport, to take vatsim steps to the Dreamliner one by one. I wonder if I should do a couple more such flights or go for a full route and see how it goes..
Video later here:
“I look down on small fields spread out in stream fed valleys and sloping towards heavily wooded hills”
“There’s Providence under my left wing”
“And on my right the intricate channels of Narragansett Bay spread out as far as I can see the Massachusetts line runs through the city’s eastern suburbs”
“Cape Cod, a low, bluish hook of land, dents the horizon to my right”
“now I need approval from the sea”

connected the dusty joystick/throttle to do some stick and rudder flying. Boy, leave the H145 for a couple of months and suddenly I’m prehistoric - updates in abundance. At any rate, felt like some high mountain and desert flying, in a region I flew in my early days in this sim. Many sim updates have really improved visuals, topography, and performance. So, I started in Salt Lake City, with a new airport - issue evolved where the PacSim KSLC layout showed up on Little Nav Map, but the sim showed another layout (and I cannot find a conflicting scenery to uninstall). Also, I could not start on a helipad - message: your aircraft cannot start on this helipad (when will HYPE and FlyInside fix that?) and I could not even start on a regular parking slot. Some work to do…
Anywhoo, with now hospital scenery mods, I was glad to see some decent looking PG scenery. Nice. After the patient transfer from Logan to the University in SLC. I flew on southward - that will be in the following post. Cheers!
Today: Flight to Gothenburg. First I visited wind turbines at the coast:
I discovered a good landing spot for a stadium visit (pink line):
Bye Gothenburg:
Had a look at the new photogrammetry in Geneva.
It’s a bit wavery in places close up but it’s fine from a reasonable distance.
What did I do in MSFS today? I did some storm chasing and witnessed two really (and I do mean REALLY weird things)
With Franklin now being labelled a Hurricane I had to check it out because I last checked it when it was only labelled as a tropical storm..
I set up the flight kind of early morning and tossed it on AutoPilot and went and did a few things… okay fine you caught me, I went back to bed..
Anyway the first odd thing noticed was:
(link removed no longer using youtube)
If you watch it, at the 3:42:34 - point it changes the camera angle, I wasn’t in the room for that nor was anyone else… Perhaps Franklin threw things off?
For the second one I had to give my head a shake and wipe my eyes thinking I was going crazy

The flight that you see ahead of you: SWA3175
Pay attention to it, pay VERY VERY close attention to it.
That thing is going backwards… yes BACKWARDS I’m not joking, it’s like someone crashed and pushed the rewind button on the flight… If you keep watching I actually pan around to give it a better view.
I tend to do lots of flying, you can follow my flights on my TWITCH:
I’ve been flying the TBM 930 around the world following the continental coasts. Right now I’m in Japan making my way north. I decided to try my hand at VOR navigation, and it was quite fun. I completed a flight from RJOA to RJOO using only VOR vectors.
Tested my newest masterpiece, the LaGuardia airport in NY:
The LaGuardia is one beast of an airport, even with NVMe-only computer it takes almost 30 seconds until it is fully loaded (in the meantime you get 1-2 FPS - first I thought my computer is too weak for this beast until I noticed that it was still loading), but after it is loaded in it functions rather normally with normal FPS and it´s very sophisticated architecture can be marveled.
Finally a worthy LaGuardia airport. Was about time! An iconic NY flight now and then is a must.
