Things I did in Flight Simulator.

Landed the FlyInside Bell 206 Jet Ranger on the US Bank heliport. It took me about half a dozen tries. I really love this chopper.

Ant’s Airplanes Tiger Moth for a tour of the Los Angeles area, culminating with a frightening landing attempt at a tiny closed airstrip outside of Camarillo. I gave up after one try and landed at Camarillo.

Just me and my pal Wilma (Got-Friends Wilga) for a scenic tour of all the Parallel 42 strips around Red Bluff, CA. I landed at all of them!

I discovered that my virtual mansion has a machine for printing money! Coyote Estate is my new home base, if I print up enough of this virtual money I can pay ALL my virtual bills much better. I just hope no characters from GTA show up.

Happy Flying!

Bought the payware Courchevel in the Christmas sale. Finally got round to visiting its rather nice heliport in my MD 500E, which I also bought in the Christmas sale.

Merry Christmas everyone!

A mostly successful flight. Seems the last update mucked up whatever I’d done to fly the plane smoothly. Tried the RNAV approach from the south into Melbourne as the wind was strongly in that direction. Nice to hand fly, but wish the RNAV had caught. C’mon, LVFR, get this plane up to snuff. At least I got to try out the ORBX Melbourne airport. I used the freeware Christchurch, but I think I’ll buy it as I expand into this neck of Oceania more.

Leg 2 of California bush-trip in WB-Sim C172 in real weather: KPMD :airplane: KDAG
I have to start very early California time, but it’s just before I go to sleep. It was still chill (4°C), but no clouds at all. Also wind at ground level was calm. But I had strong head wind (more than 20kn) during flight. At least visual navigation was easy. Just stay south of the road so that I don’t end up in restricted military airspace.

Tried out some dangerous mountain flying in the DC-3. Stupid decision to try to land on a grass strip on a dark mountain almost ended it.

While waiting to see where our next around-the-world flight is going to take us I thought I would hop in the F-18 and do a quick tour around Iceland:

Pic #8 - Don’t you just love it when the glideslope tells you you’re a bit low, the PAPI tells you you’re on track and your trained eyes tell you you’re probably a bit too high?.. :expressionless::sweat_smile: Just MFS things…

Flew the Longitude from Budapest (LHBP) to Zurich (LSZH):

I’ve got to admit it was unsafe to land, I was way below minimums when I actually started to see anything of the runway. By all means it should have been a go around then onwards to the alternate, as clouds were so low at Zurich that even attempting a second approach would have been a waste of effort. However I’ve got to get to work tomorrow, so I just put the plane down using synthetic vision until I actually saw the runway outside. Shame on me  :face_in_clouds:
