Arriving In Grand Bahama International Airport
Started up an OnAir account and having a blast. I’ll eventually write fictional accounts of my OnAir career. I really enjoy it as it adds “goals” for my flight simming. Finally had enough money to lease the A320, so of course jumped in the Fenix A320 with all the new goodies to complete some missions.
Now using Volanta for flight log management and some flight tracking, and I so love it.
As for the flights, basically crashed the A320 on ILS approach trying to deliver cargo and passengers to a small airpoirt in Mexico (MMAN/NTR). Need much more practice with ILS.
Then did a turn to KGUP. My first RNAV landing in the A320 and worked flawlessly.
Quick flight KWHP via Valencia to KSZP. Cool and scenic until the actual arrival, so this landing made me go and buy scenery from Just Flight. Film at 11.
I tried to fly from Port Blair (VOPB) to Singapore (WSSS) on the Lunar New Year Eve night to see the fireworks, unfortunately I did the wrong calculations and flew just the day after
Taking off:
Cruise during sunset:
A lot of people at Singapore… probably leaving after last night party and celebrations:
I did the Yosemite discovery flight, it’s great in VR
Thank you. Next time it worked like charm.

This time it was flawless flight. Departure a bit in clouds, just following SID. And on arrival I got assigned expected approach ILS Y 11. The approach included flying DME arc. The flight director used GPS to fly that. I tuned DME manually and double checked the distance. Now I wonder, if it is possible to configure autopilot to use DME and not GPS to fly the arc. But I am happy this time I captured ILS correctly and did smooth landing.
And I reached the largest country on this tour, Brazil.
Well, yesterday, to be honest. A very short trip in the Southern Alps of New Zealand. Take off from Quintin Lodge (T004):
Head Southwest to Lake Quill. Land on the upper lake & taxi over to the bar seperating it from the lower lake.
(the little green dot is the Icon A5!)
Pick a better day to fly than I did (this was flown with live weather)
Took a break from the gray skies of the Pacific Northwest for some clear desert air… Sedona → Scottsdale, AZ
Cloud skimming all the way from NJ to RI - beautiful sunset. Stabilized Approach Warning on Final, but I figured out it’s reading METAR from Live WX and I was using a WX Preset. The winds were diametrically opposite as a coincidence.
Flew the Bush Flying Unlimited Dehavilland DHC 2 Beaver form Milford Sounds into Gorge River, New Zealand. Nice little spot.

I was definitely coming to area with more traffic. There were more aircraft on the same STAR and approach to Rio De Janeiro. And one behind me was faster, but luckily it descended to lower altitude. I got so occupied by the traffic that I almost forgot to do before landing checklist.
