It seems like every plane I fly costs in the region of £35 and I need a PhD in Aeronautical Engineering to fly them.
Imagine what a breathe of fresh air this was:
Nardi Ventura ….. £10 on the marketplace (found it tucked away in the back of my hanger).
Set off to fly from North of the Lake District down to Wast Water.
Longer leg of Atlantic tour in TBM-930: SBSG SBBE
There was some storm in the destination. So it was the first time I used weather radar. I was lucky. Assigned approach went around the storm clouds.
Flight from Barcelona(LEBL) to Madrid(LEMD), Iris PC-21, live wearher, FSLTL AI traffic.
Had to battle >25knots crosswind with moderate turbulence but managed to do it
Bless the maker for that mod that lets one scoot around the Dune scenery, unfettered. Make sure your controller is set to this aircraft’s characteristics and flying is very good. Only problem is trying to land on the tops of those promontories and you sink through the surface to a lower surface. Oh, dang. I notice you can use different pilots as well, though I don’t remember doing so. I’ll have to check that out.
What did I do in MSFS today?
I spent 3 hours trying to save custom screenshots and mapping load next custom screenshot on my joystick.
All to no avail
I can map a specific screenshot but load next just won’t work.
Picked up my new to me 182 RG and did a fam hop from Newport (much improved thanks to N316TS’s stalwart work for World Gateway Hub) to East Hampton.
She is definitely slick on approach, I was jockeying the power a bit, RL pilot notes indicated come onto the flare with power as the nose will pitch down. I’m happy to report I held it proper even though she was floating a bit. Next time I’ll do an extended downwind to buy myself a little more time for power management and get down to that 70 knots.
Tour of Newfoundland, Leg 2: Fogo (CDY3) to St. Johns (CYYT). The (live) weather was pretty rough today. A strong NE wind off the ocean kept trying to blow me inland & off-course. This part of Newfoundland is basically rock, water, trees, trees & more trees. A very small plane in a very wild environment:
Cancelled plans to sightsee around St. Johns & headed for the airport. Had to transition from VFR to IFR. Runway was finally visible about a half-mile out:
All this time, more than a few flights out of Naha, I decided to see the Shuri Castle mod, and, of course, flew a mission to a downed plane, bringing those folks back for a med check.
