Providence to Toronto - bad icing on the climbout, five TA calls enroute, 78 knot headwind the whole time, absolutely nasty WX on arrival and the only saving grace was the 38 knot wind was blowing directly on runway heading. It’s great!
Got sidetracked from this evening’s planned flight when I discovered Airshow Assistant by Touching Cloud. After reading one review I figured it was worth the $1.99, and I wasn’t wrong! Can’t wait to see some minor improvements in this neat little program. Off to experiment some more!

Spent a few flight hours in the DC-6 A/B today. Trying to get more proficient with the power settings. Fantastic big aircraft to fly.
Two sets of PAPI’s, and they disagree?
New livery for the 172. Maybe for the Bagolu someday? Did a ‘training’ flight down to Pueblo, passed La Junta and the dino tracks, Camp Amache, John Martin Reservoir, and back up to Colorado Springs.
After a long break I continued tour around Atlantic in TBM-930: SBBE SMJP
I left one of the biggest countries on my way, Brazil, and reached Suriname. The flight was nice with 20kn tailwind.
I lost a bit practice with TBM-930. I followed ILS-Y 11 approach, and when I had the runway in sight I focused on it visually forgetting that I fly IFR and realized that I was above glideslope. At least TBM-930 is not that big airplane and the runway was long. The landing was ok, but I had definitely better.
I took a brief respite from more realistic flying, to fly formation with a pterodactyl in the Rara Avis Bulldog autogyro, featuring SoFly’s Dinosaurs and TouchingCloud’s Airshow Assistant.
Replicated a scenic cargo flight between San Juan and Charlotte Amalie.
Love that Air Flamenco are still making use of these old timers!
Yesterday: Flight around Barra incl. field landing near Barra Head Lighthouse (life-threatening in reality)
Today a long trip (for a Tanarg 912 ULS) from Barra to Stornoway;
refueling in Stornoway and short trip to the nothern end of the Outer Hebrides;
field landing near Butt of Lewis Lighthouse.
Leaving Barra
The weather got worse…
…but soon got better again.

I’m putting together a spreadsheet to rank all the airports I’ve visited. Not only am I ranking the airports on criteria that matters to me (stability, look/feel, departure/approach scenery, etc.), I’m creating a screenshot log. adding links to the real world website, and adding notes for each one. So having a blast “scouting” my airports (100+) atm.
Some of my top airports I’ve logged and ranked:
Paine Field (Snohomish WA) - KPAE, Drzewieki (Scout Plane: COWS DA 42)
Lake Tahoe (KTVL). (Scout Plane: Kodiak 100)
KTRP (Oregon). Freeware from flightsim.to. Scout Plane: Wilga (my only airport to get a “10” ranking
Tofino, British Columbia, Canada (CYAZ) to Douglas Lake, British Columbia, Canada (CAL3)
(Vancouver)
So, finally procured the F-16. Nice flyer, easy to access systems, just landings require finesse - small undercarriage, huh? Did a test flight around Sagami and Tokyo Bays.
Out and in, Atsugi. Wonder when freeware scenery makers will have access to static Nipponese equipment to zing up airfields there.
Took a flight yesterday afternoon in the SC Designs F-16 from McChord AFB near Seattle to Buckley ANGB in Denver (my home town). Took the scenic route via Idaho (Sand Point), Montana (Glacier NP, Bozeman, Big Sky), Wyoming (Yellowstone NP, Teton NP) with 3 or 4 “in-air refuelings.” Was arriving from the NW and had a beautiful sunset lighting up Colorado’s Front Range peaks from the west. In VR it was even more visually stunning than the screen shots depict.

I hopped into the Flyboysim’s S6S light sport and toured the former Navy lighter-than-air station at Houma, Louisiana. Along the way, I tinkered with Touching Cloud’s Airshow Assistant some more. You can read this short tour at Pee-Wee and Nag’s Sky Tours (and Other Thoughts)!
Trying out the optional wingman.
The developer (Touching Clouds) says that wingmen in different aircraft types is in the works. Can’t wait to putter around in the Tiger Moth with a P-38 on my wing!
Flying low over former NAS Houma, an abandoned Navy LTA base southwest of New Orleans.
A Rans trike on our wing over the Mississippi Delta.
Base leg during my first landing attempt in the Rans. A forward slip killed off the altitude and airspeed in a hurry!
The sun setting over the bayou after an afternoon of flying.
Final compilation with the SDK Scenery Editor and shared my latest freeware (Corona Muni)
