Did a (fictional?) AAL flight from KLAX to KLAS. Really like this route! Vegas is beautiful!
Flew the B2 Islander around the islands around Savannah GA after taking off and landing at Savannah Hilton head international
A chap added venting smoke to the volcanic park above Kagoshima, also Sakurajima. Went up to check it out. Well done.
I reached US in my Atlantic tour in TBM-930 in real weather: MUCL KMCO
Quite low visibility on departure. And I got too much to right, when I was taking picture during takeoff.
Soon I got above the haze.
Good bye Cuba
Hello United States
And all clouds disappeared, when I reached Florida. But I got 70kn crosswind.
My COM 2 stopped working, so I skipped ATIS. STAR and ILS approach were straight forward. On final tower said crosswind 329/10. But windsock said more than 10 (it was fully horizontal). And I got blown way off centerline, but landing was still on runway and nice smooth.
Unfortunately, I got assigned the most east runway 35R. When looking at STARs, it makes sense to not conflict with traffic from north, west. But the GA parking is in the west of the airport, so I had to taxi 25 minutes crossing all runways and waiting for landing and departing traffic. My next airport on the way will be definitely smaller.
I repeated my attempt to fly from Ben Gurion aiport (LLBG) to Kuwait, using freeware airport. However, as in my first flight, game crashed while descending.
Also I was quite disappointed by the patched imagery of the desert:
Near Amman:
Over Arabic desert:
Reaching Kuwait (you can see the sea in the background) just a few minutes before the game crashed:
So I will let pass a while before trying it again, hoping that both problems get solved
I made a good use of vatsim coverage, although KZME logged off before I got into it’s airspace. Hartsfield - Jackson Atlanta (KATL) to Memphis (KMEM) in the Longitude:
When I left Atlanta I was expecting RWY 18L/C/R for Memphis, which soon changed directions, so ATIS said 36L/C or R, but on descent I got RWY27 It got a bit busy then, but in the end I landed about allright. I love interesting arrivals, even if the whole FBO is missing from the airport.
Full video later here:
Short flight to Sun’n’Fun event in Lakeland airport in C172: KORL KLAL
After takeoff I climbed to 2500 to stay relatively low in B airspace but above Orlando town. I tried to avoid proximity of Orlando Intl. airport and following roads. Also avoiding Security NOTAM on the other side. Soon I was out of B airspace and climbed to 4500ft. and just followed road leading directly to Lakeland.
There was some 13kn crosswind. Quite sharp turn on base. Landing was OK. Then I decided to practice more crosswind touch and goes. That was fun. Also practiced few go-arounds, because of traffic or down-drafts. Last landing was perfect. Right on centerline and butter. I can go have a good sleep.
Ehm, watch airshow. The parking was full. The only available parking was at fuel stop.
Only 1 picture today.
A short flight in the Baron, from my old home digs (Aurora, CO, next to Buckley AFB), to my new home digs in Lubbock Texas. A little over 2 1/2 hours in the Baron at FL 170. Got me to my goal before summer and all the associated goings on hit.
Time to rest my eyes for a bit…LOL!
Wow, just wow. Congrats
Aww, shucks! Twasn’t nothin…LOL. Guaranteed it’ll be awhile before I hit 6000. Probably after the new edition. God, I love this sim!!
