Checking out the new LaGuardia from MK Studios earlier this week!
One flight today, a nice two hour flight from Newcastle (EGNT) to Stockholm, Arlanda (ESSA),
Today, I went to see an old friend but couldn’t find him so then I noticed a twin of a friend I used to have - so I visited him…and went to see a new friend I just got…hmmm…
Photogrammetry is an incredible invention.
While lost,
I had discovered,
I was -
but not forever.

After arriving to Boston on Sunday, I wanted to explore Massachusetts and Vermont WB-Sim C172. Unfortunately, I was not lucky with weather. I planned flight from Beverly Regional in Boston to Bennington and see Bennington Battle Monument.
I departed from KBVY and stayed east, north-east of the airport, as was recommended to avoid noise sensitive area. When I was north, I turned west and climbed to 2500ft to fly under B airspace. Then I flew between cities Lawrence and Lowel. Again to avoid flying over populated area. After crossing Merrimack river I could climb to 4500ft. Until now, the weather was not ideal, but fine with ceiling 9000 overcast. Then I reached Nashua and I could see weather was getting worse. I was thinking of diverting to KASH, but I still could see the road that I planned to follow. And that road led me to Jaffrey. And from there I couldn’t see much to west. So I decided to divert to KAFN. I landed safely there and that was good decision, because visibility was getting worse.

Night flight from Weschester (KHPN) to Marlboro (2N8) in the Zlin Savage Cub.
I’m not rated for night flying, and I’m not sure if the Savage Cub is either. None of the gauges are backlit (not a bug) and I appear to have a flashlight stuck to my head (works pretty well!). No-one around to stop me, so off I go!
My very small plane on a rather large runway:
Approaching Manhattan:
Not a lot of lights on in the Empire State building - guess they are trying to conserve energy:
Approaching the New Jersey shoreline & Atlantic Highlands:
At 1:00 am, no one is around at Marlboro (2N8) . This looks as good a place to park as any:
Continuing my trip around the world. Today i am flying with my Diamond Aircraft DA 62 registered N215E from Amhedabad /India VAAH to Muscat Oman, OOMS. Its a 4hr 40 minutes trip
Got a sound pack for the Bandeirante so I can actually fly it now without my ears hurting. Nice little bird tbh, and still being updated.
JustFlight Piper Tomahawk for a quick tour of the San Francisco Bay area.
This plane is so awesome I’m not even sure where to begin. I’ll just say it’s good enough that I feel compelled to write a really positive and lengthy review. I won’t do that here, but I did find myself saying “VY! VY!” and hearing my imaginary instructor ask me to climb us up to 3,000 because you know why…stall practice day. Really brings out my inner flight student, and I’m thinking would be a most excellent choice for instrument practice since it’s got all the required equipment and is a simple plane to manage (if you don’t stall).

Sometimes, flights surprise me.
Today I took the Cessna 172 out for a sightseeing flight from Arlanda (ESSA) to Tullinge (ESCN). As usual, I’m using live traffic & weather. Did not check the weather beforehand, and was greeted by low clouds, low visibility & zero degrees snow/rain mix.
One might think that sightseeing in such conditions would not be much fun, but the weather actually made the flight very immersive.
Taking off shortly after dawn, I found that as long as I stayed under the cloud layer at 1,500 ft, VFR flying was possible. Churches made great route markers:
Despite the low visibility, still managed to hit my POIs, such as the Avicii Arena:
Not lost in the mist, but sometimes it felt like it. Here I’m on my way to the Djuro Bridge:
A slight break in the clouds made it easy to see:
And here we are safe & sound at Tullinge, after a very immersive flight:
I finished the flight that I had to divert last time: KAFN KDDH
This time sky was clear, but turbulent. The flight was short, following all visual points, road, crossing Connecticut river splitting New Hampshire and Vermont, then road to hills, pass by wind turbines, and then to Bennington.
I overflew the airport and decided to land rw31. I missed that 31 has right traffic pattern. And I found out why. Because there was hill just before base. So of course I was high on base, so I extended it and overshoot final. But I could also pass by Bennington Battle Monument. I could still align with rwy and did butter landing.
I had some communication issues. At first my COM2 stopped working, so I had to use COM1 for ASOS. And, when I got closer to destination, I started to pickup some ATIS of another airport on UNICOM. So I switched to approach frequency, pretending I was still on UNICOM. But I got confused and sometimes I called out Albany traffic instead of Morse State traffic.
