I think it was rather obvious that Air Canada was going to terminate my contract, since in my flight from Dallas to Toronto I decided to park my plane in the actual parking lot.
They told me I wasn’t fit to fly one of their planes, I guess I could agree seeing how the previous landings went.

So on that note I took the Icon A5 and flew from Toronto To Pittsburgh

I lived in Perth (the Scottish one) until I was fourteen, and from my last house there I could look four miles north-east across the valley of the River Tay towards Scone Aerodrome – now known as Perth Airport. At the time it was home to a major commercial pilot training school, and I was able to watch the trainees take off (I don’t recall ever seeing any land, I won’t speculate as to why).

My house is at the bottom of this picture, and I’ve ringed the location of the airfield:

I wouldn’t have seen the airfield any better than you can in this picture, but luckily I had a telescope, so what I could see looked more like this – really, rather better than this, since my telescope’s magnification was much superior to MSFS’s drone camera maximum zoom:

I was fairly tall for my age, but I might have had a better view of the aerodrome if only I’d been a little taller – say, a couple of hundred feet:

I chose to use Scone Aerodrome as my home base for general aviation largely because of this history, but in retrospect the choice was fortuitous; apart from any nostalgia I may feel for the place, the airfield still retains its classic triangle of runways, which can come in handy in vintage aircraft and/or high winds, since you never need to be taking off or landing too far off a direct headwind. It also has a helipad, which is nice (IRL an air ambulance operates out of what I hate having to call Perth Airport).

A shoutout to the freeware airfield designer Scotflight, all of whose Scottish airfields I have downloaded from Flightsim.to, but whose EGPT (I can’t bring myself to write Perth Airport aga- Oh, blast!) is particularly appreciated:

Landed my C152 at Redwood City and found a traffic jam caused by forklift running into fuel tanker. And many cars on the taxiways! Isn’t AI wonderful! Waited 30 minutes and nobody came out to move any of these vehicles. Hope the new release will include some more lifelike activities at airports (wishing in vain I am sure).

Back to DC-3 flying from OPIS to OPSD a remote, mountainous part of Pakistan.Just the kind of aircraft to fly in that area.Believe some Dev has come up with OPSD but it is still awaited on Market Place. This airport has now also become an Air Force Base which has been depicted by Dev.It is an interesting airport to fly to in C-130,Transall C-160.Additionally a regular A320 commercial flight operates there too.

I completed the German DACH bush flight late last night:

Here we are at Mannheim, ready for the next leg:

We follow the Rhine for a ways, admiring the city sights along the way. Cathedrals make great visual waypoints:

There’s lots of rural scenery between the cities to enjoy:

Over Lake Constance, approaching our final destination:

Our final parking spot, at St Gallen Altenrhein (LSZR).

This completes my series on the three bush flights in World Update 18. I hope it has inspired you to fly low & slow over these three scenic countries. :small_airplane: :slightly_smiling_face:

Continuing my Round the World Tour, I flew from Charleston, SC to Chesapeake, VA, landing at the small Hampton Roads airport. While the day was beautiful with scattered crowds, there was a lot of turbulence and I needed to fly higher than originally planned. Still, we made it safely to the ground and found a nice little hiding spot for the plane.

On another note, I decided to try out Beyond ATC. Absolutely love it! Still some kinks to be sure, but even with those kinks, it is so much better than the default ATC. I also like how you can choose to respond either via clicking a prompt or verbally. I look forward to trying it on an airliner. ATC routed me into Hampton Roads via visual vectors and, while I was originally going to do an RNAV approach, we ended up going by hand. I managed not to scare my passengers too much!

Next stop on the world tour: the birthplace of President Josiah Bartlet.
