Flew the updated Kodiak 100 around Georgia just North east of Peachtree
Tried engine feathering (properly this time). Found I could maintain speed and altitude no problem. Except…
I damaged the engines a bit. I think because I feathered at too high a speed.
This is Zorg En Hoop Airport (SMZO) in the middle of the city of Paramaribo, Suriname.
Holding short at Val De Caes Brazil (SBBE)
Starting final approach to Zorg En Hoop Airport (SMZO) Brazil.
So hazy. ILS approach was needed.
This is the Savannah S, an Ultra Light and STOL aircraft.
It’s an aircraft from Bagolu and taken about two and a half years to make from what I can see.
I’ve been flying it this afternoon and it is very very good.
A choice of TDS or PMS50 for those that have one. (PMS50 have a free version)
Remove the co-pilot, lift the doors for spectacular views left, right and forwards.
As all STOL aircraft it is very quickly in the air.
The size of the flaps contribute to its 65km/hr wheels down and very quick stop.
It is built for msfs 2020 but apparently works ok in 2024, it was only released a couple of days ago.
This is free! I think he could comfortably sell this at £15
I’ve got payware aircraft not as good as this.
Highly recommended, well worth downloading.
this is brilliant
Continuing my trip across the Pacific. Another fine day in the islands. Here we are leaving Hikueru (NTGH):
First waypoint was ove Hao (NTTO):
It’s easy to miss the island of Nukutavale:
Making the turn to base:
The runway at Nukutavake (NTGW) is only 3,021 ft. I’ll need all of it if I’m to successfully take off with my load of passengers and cargo:
Second waypoint was Tureia (NTGY):
Passing by Vahanga & Tenarunga atolls:
On final at Marutea (NTGS):
Marutea is about 3,600 NM from South America & 3,800 NM from Australia. And yet amazingly, gas is still only $2 a gallon at this pump! ![]()

Flying east across the South Atlantic
Landed on Fernando de Noronha Island
Depart next day
Travel east 1100 nm
RAF Ascension Island (FHAW)
Leaving Ascension to head north
Crossing the equator
Landed at Roberts Intl (GLRB) in Liberia.
Today I took a break from flying airliners all the time and flew a Grumman Albatross from St. Gallen in Switzerland over to Lake Eder in Germany. Luckily there were no tourists hanging around the dock to watch my miserable differential thrust parking skills. ![]()
I bought the FS2Crew FO addon for the Fenix A320 months ago and had a terrible time with it. While I enjoyed the animations next to me, the FO kept doing absurd things at critical times that I had to go and fix so in the end it added to my cabin workload. Perhaps there were things I could have changed in the setup to have made things smoother but I found the UI for doing so very confusing and illogical. I ended up uninstalling the package but was out some considerable money in the end. I watched a video by Swissair of him testing the addon and he ended up screaming at his FO. While his videos are often over the top, I fully understood his frustration after using it.
Hmmm. That’s strange. I’ve done countless flights in the Fenix A320 series, PMDG 737 and 777 series with this addon and never had a single issue with the FO acting strangely. It took a bit of time to set it up the way I wanted, but now I do most of my tubeliner flying with my animated FO. Coupled with BeyondATC or SI AI, I just get the most immersive experience I’ve ever had in a sim.
My latest flight logs:
MSFS2020 - CYYT, CYYZ, CYOL, CYZE, KDRM, CYEL, CYTS, KTTS, KATL, CYXU, CYZR, CYXU, CYHM
(the double CYXU isn’t a mistake the first time I flew over it but made mention in my logs)
MSFS2024 - CYYZ, CYOL, CYZE, KDRM, CYEL
Notes: I installed MSFS2020 on my pc and my graphics card optimized it automatically and it gave my settings low settings, I was some what surprised by that but I found it look no different then it did on the Xbox so I went back to the Xbox. I never recorded my flight in my log since it was just me flying around Toronto to see how the game would handle it.
Oh and if anyone is interested since I mentioned about my PC:
Processor: 12th Gen Intel(R) Core™ i5-12400F (2.50 GHz)
RAM: 32GB
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Super
(if it makes a difference both OS and storage are SSD’s, one is 500GB the other is 1TB)
Took a short side trip on my round-the-world flight in the Cessna Caravan, departing from Faaite (NTKF) for Rangiroa (NTTG).
Here we are on the way to Fakarava (NTGF) following the shore of fthe atoll:
Rotoava. The airport is off to the left:
Descending on base for Aratika Nord (NTKK):
Making the turn to runway 12 at Apataki (NTGD):
Approaching Arutua (NTGU) :
Don’t get confused and try to land at the old airstip: ![]()
This is where you should be landing!
Almost at our destination:
On the downwind leg for NTTG:

Back to my round-the world flight, today’s leg was a long one: 1,403 NM from Totegegie (NTGJ) to Mataveri Intl (SCIP).
Here we are, taxiing out from the apron at Totegegie :
Leaving French Polynesia and starting the climb to 39,000 ft:
A speck in the ocean - Oeno island:
Henderson Island is easier to spot:
Arrival at Easter Island, lining up for a runway 28 approach:
While the ground crew do their work, I’m going to get some coffee:

Is the SCIP airport a 3rd party? Looks very good.
