Did a Manitoba flight from St Andrews (CYAV) to Poplar River (CZNG) in the Black Square Cessna Caravan. This is a real route that Northway Aviation fly with their C208s.
I love researching real life routes and try to do the same ones in the sim.
On the ground in Poplar River. Still very cold in this region appearently.
Found some very well priced shipment of KitKats, packaged, on pallets and all. It was a very good deal, so I loaded it up in the ATR 72-600F at Bern Belp (LSZB) and flew it to Luxembourg (ELLX) using BeyondATC:
Things went mostly fine, even landing was okay, but after landing whenever I set thrust to idle, then I had icing warning and suddenly had no hydraulics
It was a pretty weird taxi afterwards.
At least the KitKats will pay for the flight ![]()
2020, Kobe to Aomori. Hoping the weather had passed and sunshine would be the order of the day - and it was mostly. Took the Pro up, marvelous sights, sounds, and handling. Saw one of the default liveries was Mokulele, so expect to fly Hawai’i soon. Pro handled the curved RNAV at Aomori very well, getting me through some overcast, and, bingo, the runway was in sight. Say Intentions’ flight following was A-OK.
Kobe, great freeware…
Kyoto, sakura no ki blooming along the river - you rock, Bijan.
Lake Biwa - Kyoto pal says levels are dropping with drought conditions…
Nagoya - Higashiyama Tower not showing… Will be sure to turn on SamScene which shows Nagoya better than default.
Fuji-san. Asobo weather reflecting the warmer winter-spring this year.
Surprised how they 3-D’d Fukushima Dai-ichi. Not just a flat representation any more.
Turning for Aomori at Yamagata…
Aomori…
No - this is the default airport included in World Update 13 (Oceania)
More touring in the frozen North East of Russia. Such a stark landscape up here, but I’m loving the Baron for it, she’s a very handsome machine indeed. We flew up Sakhalin Island and then turned due West across the taiga - the half frozen rivers look especially good.
Making for Irkutsk, I took advantage of a nearly full moon and clear skies for a VFR night flight, navigating at first by a river bending West then turning north to follow the lights along the “Road of Bones.” I only made it as far as Aldan on this leg and the visual approach to 21L had me nearly intersecting a high ridge right before the runway.
Somehow managed a buttery landing on the last quarter of the dark runway (Volanta had it as -6fps!) and came to a stop on the stripes at the far end! Phew!
Returned to the SIM after a long winter break.
Took out my modernised (aka native 2024) Kodiak and did some pattern work at what is probably my favourite small, handcrafted airport in MSFS2024: SBFN, located on the island of Fernando de Noronha, 200 NMs into the ocean, most eastern point of brazilian territory.
Highly recommend visiting SBFN and to fly around and enjoy the scenery. Some very interesting weather there also, very hot and humid.

2020, Was surprised and happy to see a Mokulele livery default to the professional. AND it has a dynamic registry. “charter” from Lihue to Kona.
Leaving Kaua’i
O’ahu
I think a new aspect of my flight planning will be to work around Class B airspaces. Say Intentions gave me a phone number because I neglected to notice the Class B extends over Koko Head…rats!
climbed to 10500 to peek at the Haleakalā High Altitude Observatory.
Crossing the strait to Hawai’i
volcanic vents at the ‘park’
Turning for Onizuka Int’l
Just so cool to be able to be able to open everything up now…
Pee-Wee finished and posted her first flight simulator video today: Pee-Wee and Nag Over the Wonderful World. You’ll find the link over at Pee-Wee and Nag’s Skytours (and Other Thoughts). You can also go directly to our new YouTube page.
Another nice x-c flight from KBTV 19 to CYUL (KBTV → PBERG → LATTS → MUTNA → EBDOT → DUNUP → CYUL 24L
Was flying at 8500 around 110kts (was nearly spot on with my TOD at about 27 miles out, so about 2 mile before EBDOT)
Touch down was butter (didn’t even the feel mains touch on the motion rig/ VR setup). I had to check to make sure the rig was working after ![]()
