Couple of flights tonight as I made my way down from Yorkshire to Lincolnshire. Bridlington Airfield to Hollym Airfield / Hollym Airfield to Skegness Aerodrome.
Leaving Bridlington Airfield. Bridlington in the background.
Continued my exploration of wild British Columbia (courtesy of Return to Misty Moorings). Lots of snow in the area, but finally found a decent place to rest at the Tsetzi Lake airstrip, CBT3.
The American Scout is an absolute joy to fly. Not sure yet if I prefer this one or the Wilga, but doing rudimentary acrobatics in the Scout is a whole lot of fun.
A little GA flying over rural Spain while I plan my next proper adventure. This is the updated G36 by Arrantis. Not sure how much I like the Bonanza even modded. The ground roll is obscene for someone who loves bush planes, but it is nice en route.
Not many flights left on this really enjoyable tour. Kent, then briefly across London, back down south before heading to Berkshire and back up north to the Midlands.
2020, Palm Island to Horn Island, patrolling NE Queensland. The lesson learned about the AH P-51 is to keep the fuel pump on… I’ve always turned it off for most warbirds…
Flew Williamson sodus (KSDC) to Rochester (KROC) in the flight fx Cessna Citation after losing avionics after I got airborne due to my old Saitek setup somehow being connected aircraft autopilot panel triggering the in game power loss (If I do the gear switch on the saitek switch pane, that also makes the avionics loss happen) so I’m researching new hardware for a new sim build unfortunately
Continued my World Tour in the TBM 850 from New Delhi to Tenzing-Hillary Airport in Nepal, also known as Lukla.
This one was…a challenge…to say the least. As we got closer, weather was not in our favor and I thought we might have to divert. Then again, it’s a sim, so I figured “Why not?” Then of course there was the snow… And it took a couple of tries to actually land, but…land we did, and almost too late as darkness was starting to fall! Plus, I almost forgot my landing gear, and I hear that’s sort of necessary for landing.
Not much chance to do any sight-seeing around the small village as it was getting late, but I am thanking our lucky stars that we actually stuck the landing. Any later, and we definitely would have gone elsewhere, including into the side of a mountain…
Testing SU4 with some GA flying over NZ in the Dakota. Performance was superb. ATC was not. NZWR Tower directed me to land with 20kts of tailwind! I feel like the ensuing runway excursion was not entirely my fault.
Changed up to MSFS 2024 to help beta test the latest update on Xbox. Did my intial long flight from:
CYYZ to GE99
Then was inspired to go from GE99 to KSDF
Going to do some sightseeing in Louisville, but I don’t think it will be anything that noticeable, since I’m sure not everything is recognizable.
Continued the World Tour in the TBM 850, heading out from snowy Lukla to remote Lhasa. First, I did a bit of exploration around the village and airport.
After taking a few laps to admire this beautiful and dangerous peak, I switched to radio navigation and my way towards Lhasa. Usually, when you are coming down from the Flight Levels, you expect to spend a bit of time in descent. With the capital of Tibet standing at almost 12,000 feet, however, much of that descent is already taken care of for you. The approach along the Yarlung Zangpo River is absolutely striking. In my head, I always imaged Lhasa as a smaller town, but at almost 500,000 people and with quite a large international airport for its remote location, it is anything but small.
