What did you do in MSFS today? (Part 3)

Had a go in Career mode doing a VIP flight last night in a DA62 over the alps which I haven’t tried doing before due to the low pay-outs. Visibility forwards in this plane is horrid. Curved pillar and a high line dash do not make the forward view pleasant. Otherwise she was faultless and easy to fly.

The Final blue box was way off the runway to the right. The runway itself was such a thin one it was almost imperceptible given the final was so far off track from the runway. Bit of a bumpy landing and performance points lost for the “not caring about my aircraft” due to the late ID of runway. PANIC “where is it, oh god where is it :joy:

(2020) I flew a Neofly cargo mission from Bella Coola to Dean River then on to Annette Island in a Cessna 206. I started this new company with the goal of a floatplane business in Ketchikan, sold my starting plane, took a loan and rented this 206 with tundra tires and all the bells and whistles an operator needs. It has G5 instruments, GNS 530 and 430 and the GFC500 autopilot plus a belly pod for extra cargo. I thought I was going to have to land in some lovely IFR weather with rain at Annette Island but it cleared up enough to land, though I absolutely crated that landing. Good thing Cessnas have tough landing gear.

Climbing over the mountains near Bella Coola

Coming up on Dean River, the strip is all the way at the end of this lake.

Climbing out with Dean River strip fading in the rear view, remembered to turn live weather on while sitting at Dean River and got snow.

Hmm, anything is VFR if you’re brave enough… This little rain shower ended up being zero vis for a bit until we broke out.

Marginal weather but good enough. That is PANT off the wing strut and our destination for the day.

All in all a great trip and now I’m one island south of Ketchikan. Time to source a floatplane to take hunters and fishers to all the lovely lake cabins and lodges around the area. I wonder if anyone has a cheap Beaver for sale.

Guess it’s back to me being a photographer, but I think MSFS 2024 will make things that much more fun.

Being inspired by a recently watched horror movie, I felt the need to head to Louisville, KY
To visit the Waverly Hills Sanatorium
I must say I’m impressed with how amazing this looks, of course I think the spirits inside the place were messing with me because of how my helicopter ended up.

Flew coastal Carolina (KEWN) to Charlotte (KCLT) in the default Saab 340B

During the whole flight I was thinking about what would the dash 8 300 be like to fly

Charlotte (KCLT) to Newport (KPHF) in the Saab 340B

KSLC Salt Lake City to KSDL Scottsdale in the Phenom 100 with 4 passengers

Just completed a random flight, EGBB-EGPF in the FENIX A320 and got smashed around on landing, even had wind shear on approach, thoroughly enjoyed it!

Cirrus vision jet G2 from Newport (KPHF) to Wilmington (KILM)

Another night flight - this time from Maine Lincoln Regl (KLRG) to Brunswick Executive (KBXM):

Leaving KLRG:

Passing Hancock County-Bar Harbor (KBHB):

Deer Isle Bridge, lit up for Halloween? (nope- just a known bug):

Getting ready to land at Brunswick Executive (KBXM):

Hey! This apron area is lighted!

P.S.sssst: MSFS 2020 :backhand_index_pointing_up:

Seychelles is a beautiful touristic destination in the Indian Ocean and it has an international airport. However, in MSFS, the airport exists and does not exist at the same time!

You can see the airport when you fly around Seychelles but there is no airport listed on the World Map. The not-so-Zen-Desk has been notified of this for over four years without any resolution.

Enjoy Seychelles in real-weather, real-time. I flew amphibious since I could not spawn on the non-existent airport in the MSFS World:

As I continue to view some sights since in 2024 you can get out of your plane.

Interesting Note: I was flying the BeachCraft c90 King Air, this plane hasn’t been green lit for MSFS2024, so while it does work, at times things may not work as great as it did in the previous game, this isn’t the first time I flew it and it’s a bit of a hit/miss to be honest with you.
The last time I flew it I was able to shut the engines off without issues, this time it wasn’t the case I landed a little bit away and managed to steer the plane down into the parking lot which is where I got out, the plane had it’s own agenda and it kept going until it found its safe place in amongst the trees.

The geek inside of me was happy to check out the Kennedy Space Center, I know in the previous game you can buy the spaceshuttle but it’s for landing missions only, I honestly wanted to fly it from Toronto to Tokyo or something like that just to use it as a plane, otherwise the $20 (Canadian Coin) price tag on that addon is a bit steep for a few landing missions.

While I may have landed in the parking lot across the street and drove my plane into the Kennedy parking lot, I will maintain that my plane landed at KTTS as my launch pad for my next flight.

Now since I got out my various rambles… onto the photos:

I finally got round to taking a belated look at the new photogrammetry for the German Baltic port of Kiel.

While I was flying around I saw a communications tower to the south of the city, the Fernmeldeturm Kiel.

I drifted over to have a look and as I got close I could see that it might be possible to try landing on one of the upper levels.

I wouldn’t have put money on the outcome - I thought I’d probably fall through it. But somewhat to my surprise, I did manage to touch down. Success!

But I do wish they’d dust it occasionally.

First a beautiful sunset flight from lszh to eddb with the flybywire a32nx. Great clouds, sunlight…

Later some sightseeing on isla nublar with the Juice goose. Gorgeous

Msfs24 is great <3

Flew the default 737 max 8 from Wilmington KILM to Charlotte (KCLT)

Hop-scotching across the Caribbean, from St Barthelemy (TFFJ) to Roosevelt Roads (TJRV)

My first leg was with the Zlin Norden to Juancho E. Yrausquin (TNCS) on Saba:

Where I picked up my Grumman Albatross which was waiting for me in the harbor below the airport:

The onshore wind made for an easy take-off:

Turning for Roosevelt Roads:

The same onshore wind meant I’d have to fly inland and make my landing approach over Ceiba:

I’ll be landing in the harbor - no ships to worry about today:

Following the old runway at TJRV makes for a great approach into the harbor:

Touchdown:

I headed for the docks, which because they are not modelled, provided a perfect ramp…:

…To my parking spot at the end of the dock:

Charlotte (KCLT) to Norfolk (KORF) in the default Saab 340B

My UK & Ireland Tour.

A couple of flights at sunrise as I headed from Great Yarmouth, across Essex into London. Ludham Airfield to Stow Maries Great War Aerodrome / Stow Maries Great War Aerodrome to Denham.

Shortly after take off from Ludham Airfield, flying low over the flat Norfolk Broads.

Heading over Colchester. Colchester Community Stadium below, home to Colchester United Football Club.

A hedge maze directly below, part of Wyvernwood Adventure Park.

Landed at Stow Maries Great War Aerodrome.

After taking off from Stow Maries Great War Aerodrome I decided to follow the River Thames up stream, O2 Arena below.

Tower Bridge with The Shard behind it.

The London Eye and the home of the crooks of the country, Westminster.

Buckingham Palace. God save the King!

A bit of low cloud around the home of football… Wembley Stadium.

Landed at Denham.

Oh you know, had a wonderful flight with the 737 from Montenegro to Germany, everything perfect, 90+ % on everything, but apparently i missed one ATC communication (never did), so lost half of my S reputation. Wonderful game!
