Charlotte (KCLT) to Mitchell (KHSE) in the next gen Embrear 110
Bit of a delay on the timing of this but most recent fun had in MSFS was a lovely flight in the FW200 Condor from the Faroe Islands to Iceland. This was a group effort with a couple other guys in Condors and we made our way west into the setting sun that seemed to hang in the air as we made our way to Keflavik. I started out leading and navigating via celestial navigation (not that accurate since I was only able to take shots of the sun) and dead reckoning. I used the double drift technique to get the winds aloft at our 2000m cruising altitude and estimated when we would hit the coast of Iceland using my physical E6B computer. Happy to say that despite not having practiced in a long time I was within a couple minutes of the estimated time. We picked up the INGO VOR on the south east side of Iceland then turned further west and picked up the VOR at Keflavik which guided us to the airport quite nicely. The weather in Keflavik was not perfect, some rain in the area and with a close temperature/dewpoint spread, icing was a real concern. Anti icing measures on and down through the clouds we went, extending past the airport over the water before beginning the final descent to insure terrain avoidance as by now it was dark. Over the water a sweeping left turn resulted in the wonderful sight of the runway lights guiding us into a nice night landing. This was a wonderful flight and caused me to remember how nice the Condor is to fly. Looking forward to our next one as we hop across the Atlantic, next stop Greenland.
Taxi out for takeoff at EKVG
Ready for takeoff.
Climbing out, slowly leaving land behind.
Forming up.
Did someone say close formation?
Cruising into the never ending sunset
Land ho! The coast of Iceland comes into sight
They sure have some interesting mountain names here in Iceland. I think this is Thríhnúkagígur Volcano.
On the ground in Keflavik, somebody forgot to pay the light bill.
Awesome flight with some cool wingmen, would definitely do it again and hopefully will soon.
I was in the same flight as @MaverickKing57 actually, I was impressed with the accuracy of the navigation while I was enjoying the views
Good vibes all along. Total flight time around 3 hours?
The Condor flies really nicely and looks beautiful so can’t complain.
I only got a few shots unfortunately, but I’m sure @AcquiredWings96 got some more for us ![]()

Took out the iFly 737 from KOAK to KSLC. Was intending it to be an entirely nightime flight following SWA 161, but on the final approached I rolled it back to early evening to test some settings I tweaked.
Best not to take pictures while you’re barreling down the runway. Also, ATC wasn’t kidding when they said takeoff without delay!
A beautiful night over the Bay Area.
Something just hits different with the quiet solitude of night flights.
Hand flew her down on the final approach. She continues to handle like a dream.
Hello,
I completed the LEG026 of my World Tour, I landed at Saba, instead of the Virgin Islands of the United States, to keep the flight short.
I was kind surprised by the Juancho E. Yrausquin Airport (TNCS), tricky to land there…
Now, going to Porto Rico.
Flew the next gen Embrear 110 from Buffalo (KBUF) to Tangier Island (KTGI)
Currently flying in MSFS 2024 across the US in the Black Square Piston Duke with a lot of convective weather to deal with along the way using Active Sky.
