What did you do in MSFS today? (Part 3)

Did you notice they have even got the wing flexing in the air? That is really good attention to detail for the developer. Lets give PMDG a clap.

Flew the Longitude from Seattle (KSEA) to Salt Lake City (KSLC) using BeyondATC:

Flight was pretty nice, I even got a runway direction change from my original flight plan, I really enjoyed it. Too bad about the subpar landing, I was all over the place from the centerline…

Flew the FFX Piaggio P180 Avanti from Brussels Charleroi (EBCI) to Milan Malpensa (LIMC) on Vatsim:

Landing could have gone a lot better, but as I was looking outside the airplane and not on instruments it seemed like I was on 5 feet when I flared the plane, while it was 15 or more. It is really hard to tell it in 2D…

Retraced the start of my first world trip attempt in 2021 by taking the Bonanza G36 from Saarmund (EDCS) to Miroslawiec (EPMI). Just shows how much the graphics improved since then - it looks gorgeous even without photogrammetry (which I don’t really like on low-and-slow flights anyway…)

Took in the sights of the Great Barrier Reef on a trip from Cape Flattery (YCFL) to Coen (YCOE):

Then a flight from North Island NAS (KNZY) to Long Beach (KLGB) to configure & fine-tune the controls for the H225:

and, with 20 minutes to spare, wafted over the city of London:

Flew through some valleys and mountains in India’s Kashmir region, in the Rafale M. Found an SU-57 flying around and had a fun little game of tag.

2020, Many versions of this sim have gone by with little or no development of Latin America. As Brazil was ‘treated’, I thought I’d see more, but… I think I got the 722 under my belt. If it’s any indication of what FSS has done with the E-jets, I completely understand the limitations. Say Intentions did a good job along the way.

Today I confirmed that the reversers are pretty broken on the CaptainSim C-130J. I suspected this when I was unable to reverse in mild winds on the ground (15 knots). I decided to test it by applying full reverse in the air before the threshold, and it made no difference. I was able to climb out with full reverse applied.

I used a TOLD calculator to determine landing/approach speeds, indicated 141 knots approach speed for the payload and weather conditions etc. Yes I was a bit over 141 but, there was no slowing this thing down, even at full reverse… I think a C-130 would drop out the sky like a rock IRL if reverse was applied in air, and this early..

It’s been a long time I didn’t connect to IVAO. My ID was de-activated  A simple pattern training session turned into a photoshoot session as many other simmers got connected at Nantes  It (and ATC) had to to make me several 360’s.
