went with the classic livery today, TFDi MD-11F CYYZ to KMEM and nice smooth landing on 36L, wish something like //42 SimFX worked in 24 to get the smoke cloud on touchdown.
A change from my usual VFR GA flights - from Seattle to Prince George in the default 737-Max in live weather:
Clouds at KSEA - what a surprise!

Almost home:
Edit: After a meal at the terminal, I decided to continue onto Ketchikan:
Starting the descent:
Not exactly VFR weather today. There’s supposed to be a runway ahead…somewhere…
And here it is!

Rochester (KROC) to Concord Regional (KJQF) in the PMDG 737 700
Nag and I (finally) posted a new Skytour in which we explore filming locations of Paramount’s 1955 drama Strategic Air Command. In Part One, we visit the former Carswell AFB in Fort Worth, home of the 7th and 11th Bomb Group’s magnificent B-36s. Check it out at Pee-Wee and Nag’s Skytours (and Other Stuff).
Stay tuned for Part Two. ![]()
Bikini time!
What do you mean the airplanes can’t fit through the door?
Hey! I can see their house from here.
Marco! Polo!

Flew from Hashimara (VEHX) to Paro Bhutan (VQPR) in the A320 neo v2 ms2020.
Finally made a somewhat successful landing after many attempts.
Anybody else?
I took to the sky in the Super Guepard today (Super Cheetah), a French Ultralight aircraft (This is freeware, and it is very very good. I set off from Wick EGPC and headed toward Duncansby Head, 2 miles East of John O Groats.
I’m writing to highlight the aircraft, rather than the route. This is essentially a Bush Plane….STOL. Very short landing.
Very simple Cold and Dark start.
The flight model is faultless, cruising at 80 mph without flaps (3/4 power) and a little over 40 mph with full flaps and a lot of trim.
Where the aircraft excels is in the cockpit views….superb

Found a field to land in
Very little to do for a Cold and Dark
The Garmin is the Aera 500, which is a bit like the Sat Nav in your car, it’ll show you the route, but it won’t drive you there (ie no AP).
The aircraft is over on flightsim.to

Circumnavigating Pittsburgh without a GPS and without busting the Bravo was a fun challenge and hitting each VFR waypoint kept me busy. I followed a rail line up into the south side of the city, lost it once in the trees and had to circle, before I picked it up again and caught my next landmark. From there I could just aim for downtown and enjoy the rest of the flight cruising over the Allegheny. Low ceilings had me scud running, but I had to stay below 2500 for the Bravo anyway.
Downtown Pittsburgh:
Lots of dreary grey, smokestacks, and rail yards. Fitting for what has turned into a tour of the Rust Belt after coming down from Detroit.
The approach got a little wild, crabbed and off the centerline on short final, and I probably should have gone around, but it worked out.

Beaver Island (KSJX) to Rochester (KROC) in the next gen embrear 110
Ketchikan Intl (PAKT) to Juneau Intl (PAJN):
Leaving Ketchikan:
On approach to Juneau. I really should not be VFR flying in this weather, but I’ve yet to read up on IFR landings in the 737!
At the end of the glidepath, past Coghlan Island. Mendenhall Peninsula is ahead, Dock St. on the right:
There’s a nasty little dog-leg at the end of the glidepath to get to the end of Runway 8. I made it, but landed about half-way down the runway. I’m not sure my passengers will be flying Alaska again anytime soon:
Parked at the gate. The passengers have a final hurdle - the jetways are not connected to the terminal:
Flew the Fenix a321 from Rochester (KROC) to Charlotte (KCLT)
Mirroring a flight I recently took, flew the Fenix A319 from SFO to KMFR, Medford. The only difference was the plane itself: I flew in real life on the E175, but since I don’t have that one in the sim, I had to “settle” for the Fenix. Shucks.
The weather was spot on for the flight I took, including the various cloud densities at particular flight levels, and the ceiling as I I descended toward Medford. Overall, a terrific flight.
Airbus A320 | Sydney Kingsford Smith (SYD) RW16 | Precision Landing Challenge | MSFS 2024
Short final and the plane is not configured. No time to set up the NAV Radio for ILS. Hand fly and VFR only.
How come real airline pilots don’t talk about these challenges or do them?

Once started in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, i can proudly say i’ve reached Melbourne, Australia today. I’ve discovered all of Europe with a Cessna 172 and then a Cirrus Vision Jet G2. After signing with an airliner, i started discovering other continents with the Boeing 737-8 Max. Before i arrived at Melbourne, my journey went as followed:
Dubai → New Delhi → Kuala Lumpur → Singapore → Melbourne
This last journey from Singapore to Melbourne took 8 hours. I was a little worried about performance, as the current memory leak issues make the game run choppier as time progresses. Luckily, i managed to complete the mission with an S rating, despite lags.
I was excited to see this mission was available. I’ve never been to Australia, not even in a sim. What a stunningly beautiful country!
