What EFB are you guys using for your flights?

Hi there, What EFB are you guys using for your flights? Any information is greatly appreciated. TIA

I plan to use an iPad Mini 6 with ForeFlight.
There is an app that syncs it with the Flight Sim.

Since i am training for my PPL, i have it handy and it will help me learn some of the functions needed for flying.

Hopefully it will work as planned (building my system currently)

SimEFB - has been outstanding. I fly in VR.

I’m also using ForeFlight; it’s not cheap but it’s amazingly fun to dive into all the weather maps, the various VFR and IFR charts, etc and the flight planning is great… especially if you pay extra for the terrain profile feature. It’s the same thing I would hypothetically use as an EFB in a real GA plane, so I feel pretty baller with it.

I usually fly VFR either manually or on autopilot w/ manual control of heading, so I don’t bother syncing my flight plans into MSFS; I don’t know if there’s an automatic feature available for that yet.

For the connection between MSFS and ForeFlight I’ve been using fs2ff:

I know some people use something called Flight Events for this, but I haven’t tried it myself.

Related to this question: Does anyone know an EFB being able to display native pdf documents under VR? I bought and use several of these (Sky4Sim Pad, G Sim Kneeboard, and more). These work pretty good as Map Tools but with pdf documents the best they can do is converting them into images taking a long time to convert and later to load if you want to scroll in a long document.

As a backgournd: I enjoy Migman’s World Tour coming with extensive (~200 pp) pdf documents and would like to display these in parallel with the moving map flight plans to read on POIs.

have not found that an efb, eg simefb support navigraph charts ?
thanks

No, not directly - you have to use the screengrab function within SimEFB to incorporate the Navigraph charts you want to use into your flightplan.

There is one on flightsim.to that displays native PDF in the sim.

The problem with it is when you resize the box or move things around it loses the image and you have to re-open it. Also scrolling through the PDF glitches out sometimes.

I ended up getting rid of it for Sky4Sim instead even if it does convert the PDFs. I suspect the above is the reason all the payware tools are converting them - because MSFS has glitches when dealing with them.
