What hardware do you reccomend to upgrade my cockpit?

MFS2020, Home cockpit

Do be aware that A LOT of suggestions are going to recommend a completely new desktop PC, but in what way are you looking to upgrade, and do you have a budget in mind?

Are you looking for more controls to cover more functions in the aircraft? Or are you looking to improve on the components you already have, as in a better yoke or joystick?

If looking for recommendations for a monitor / screen setup (or even a desktop PC) to improve on the laptop, you could search the forum first and start a new separate thread on those topics if you can’t find what you need.

Since you do at least have a yoke, joystick and throttles already, I would suggest starting with rudder pedals. The very cheapest Thrustmaster and Logitech aren’t great for functionality or longevity, but VKB, Virpil and MFG gear is all very good, so maybe keep an eye out for used bargains on some of these, just for starters.

First and foremost…a monitor. Minimum 28", preferably bigger.
Like MagicQuasar said, search the forum for discussions.
Some folks like a big TV. Some folks like a smaller computer monitor with better specs.

Most everyone wants something larger than that laptop screen.

Yeah, I’m going to do that . I want to stress that this is purely a personal preference, but I don’t believe that a laptop is ever the right form factor for a sim PC. Perhaps the biggest upgrade step you could take would be to have a dedicated machine just for simming, which would be a desktop PC that is upgradeable over time. You could continue to use your laptop as your everyday PC.

Beyond that, then yes - a bigger and better screen is a must. 32" as a minimum, but bigger is better. There are some great 40"+ gaming monitors available.

You have the Thrustmaster TCA kit, which is pretty good, but there are better throttle quadrants than the Saitek. I’m guessing you use the Saitek for GA and the TCA stuff for airliners? The problem is that there are very few affordable GA-specific quadrants. Maybe consider the Honeycomb Bravo, which with add-on levers can be usefully configured for most aircraft types, which would likely replace all your existing throttle kit. There are plenty of very good expensive throttle quadrants like the VirtualFly stuff, but you’re in a whole other price category there.

On pedals - if you’re willing to enter mid-price territory then the Thrustmaster Pendular Rudder pedals are amazing.

Depending on how far down the road towards a dedicated cockpit vs stuff-on-a-desk you want to go, you could look at starting to build some stuff. Right now you’re propping up the TCA kit on boxes. A physical structure made of wood would be better. But then you’re in simpit territory and at some point it has to become a separate thing rather than a desk-with-stuff. I see you posted in the cockpit pictures thread - lots of good ideas there for how to turn a desk setup into more of a simpit.

i don’t play on that one.

Well, then I’m confused.
You posted a pic of what I presumed was your setup, and asked for suggestions on what upgrades we recommended.

Yeah right!? I was going to suggest a bigger waste basket for starters.

Hey there, if that laptop’s out of your game, does that mean you’re flying on a tablet instead? Come on, spill the details - you want some cockpit tips, not a mystery! Tell us what you’re really using for MSFS, including your budget level. Otherwise, we’re just guessing!

Definitely this.

Also, if you’re keeping the Airbus captain’s pack, some mounts to attach them in a more solid way to the desk would be an improvement. You can get specific mounts from Thrustmaster direct, or better ones from Monstertech where the mounting plates can be changed if you upgrade later. Plus some rudder pedals, as mentioned above.

For a screen, that depends on space & budget available, number of screens, whether you want flat or curved, and what resolution you want to use - this will be largely determined by your unidentified PC and GPU. So if you want some practical help, a few more details would be useful.

My OCD was going to suggest cleaning services.

As mentioned the group need more details before providing relevant feedback.

So i just have one behind that and BTW sorry for that confusion.

i am using a Legion from lenovo

So i mean my budget for now is like 1500$ i mean hardware like throttles rudders and stuff.

@MagicQuasar1176 Looking for this one Amazon.pl

If anyone wants suggestions for their home cockpit, they should look no further than @skypilotYTS’s setup  (I think we all need an altimeter clock, BTW!):

In all seriousness, if you hadn’t mentioned that you were looking for throttles and stuff, I would have said that the cheapest upgrade for any home cockpit would be haptic feedback, like a Buttkicker and SimHaptic software.

Since you mentioned throttles, rudders, and stuff, what do you fly? GA? Multi? Single? Turboprops? Clearly you fly Airbuses…are you happy with those? Are you looking for something to use for life? Or do you think you’ll do this for fewer than five years and move onto something else?

So i enjoy my airbus pack but instead of the throttle from saitek i’ll go with the honeycomb bravo.

That, and some pieces of ducktape to secure the flight controls better to their respective bases.
