I had the waiting for updates issue two weeks ago. I hadn’t seen it before and after 10 minutes I closed the app.
I did a complete reinstall of MSFS (I’m blessed with unlimited and fast internet speeds) and haven’t had a problem since. I’m posting this comment to add to the evidence of an issue.
