What is this, some kind of clean sweep?

Wooow I got spammed with loads of +marked messages and clicking on them gives me the following message??

Yep I noticed that too, a lot of them were bug reports with 100+ votes too.

The plot thickens

I hope all that valueble knowledge won‘t get lost.
Like you said, most of them are bug reports containing great knowledge for possible solutions.

:crossed_fingers:t3:

Those notifications mean a topic you voted on has had voting disabled and that your vote has been released. It can be triggered by a few activities:

  • Closing or Archiving a topic - the number of votes is left intact, but you get your vote back so you can put it somewhere else

  • The topic is deleted

  • Topic is moved to a private category that you can’t see

Looking at the titles for those topics, it looks like they were questions posted for the last Dev Q and A.

Closing the topic is one thing, but completely deleting it as if it never happened?

They were likely NOT deleted. Archived most likely. Check the bottom category on the page.
The + just means you got back your vote and the link is just a reference to where it came from. It no longer exists in that location.

Yeah I don’t know why threads are just deleted like this. Usually they go into an archive. They’re even deleting the screenshot threads now. So much history being blanked.

Typically the team doesn’t delete topics.

In this case, however, these topics were only relevant for the last Q and A. If the question was asked you can find the question, and the developer’s response in the Twitch Stream archive, and in the summary post that was created by one of the CMs.

The next time a Q and A opens up, people will be able to post questions again. The reason for this is it ensures questions for Q and As are always fresh and relevant.

That is probably a storage issue more than anything. The community uploads tons of images, and that can get expensive to host from a capacity standpoint.

Thanks for your feedback.
This makes some sense at least.

But what if I want to add in more information to one of those specific topics, then what?
I just tried an in forum search to one of those topics, but yielded no results.

If you have a topic in mind, create a private message addressed to @moderators and ask if they can re-release the topic for you into #community:general-discussion-feedback.

Ok great, thanks for the tip!!
Much appreciated. :+1:t3:

Can confirm.. I’ve gotten a number of these + topics too.. some were closed with votes given back, some got deleted.. also for some topics it is not clear what changed. We both noticed this, it is still open, and can be voted for..

Maybe this has something to do with things addressed in SU-6 ?

The topic you linked got moved by Jayne from #archives:dev-q-a-sept-2021 to the new #community:dev-q-a-october category.

When it was moved into the archives category voting was disabled hence the notification; however, the plugin doesn’t have a voting restored notification which is why you didn’t get one when the topic was moved back to a votable category.

Do we have a limited number of votes per time, like the 20 likes per day? How many in which time?

Seems to take some time till it gets shown again in the archive. When I first got the messages and clicked on the topics, I got the “oops” page, but now they show up again (archived) which is totally fine.
So no big evil plot behind it

Excellent bunch of info

Yes, see: Trust Levels and How To Advance

Aaaah ok
that‘s the last topic where I would have searched for that, thanks..

It was not a timing issue, but a mechanics issue.

Discourse will show you an HTTP 404 page (the “Oops” page) if you try to access a topic that doesn’t exist, has been deleted or is in a category you don’t have read rights in.

The reason you were getting the Oops error before will have been because the topics were moved to a category that we didn’t have read access to, now that the archives category has been made public you should be able to see any topic in there.
