Considering the number of queued up SU5 aircraft updates that will hopefully be released today, can we get some idea what time Microsoft are expecting to put things onto the Marketplace ?
literally just dropped
Not seeing anything here yet… unless MS literally failed to update anything…
I haven’t seen it yet on Xbox but someone mentioned they’d got it. Am restarting, and will do a full restart if that doesn’t work
Well the Marketplace tab just did the spinny update thing but the contents after that were identical to the contents before… lets try restarting
Marketplace updates are usually accompanied by a post by the CMs in the News and Annoucements section detailing what’s in the update. There’s no post in there as of yet.
They also normally co-incide with the weekly update but someone decided to delay this one by an extra day…
yeah that’s normally a bit later than the actual update tho
Just loaded PC up and no new items in Marketplace yet.
Excited for this… hopefully Van Nuys is in this week.
Carenado have said on their social media that fixes for their planes that were broken in SU5 have been in Microsoft’s possession now for a bit and that they should be released “in the next couple of days”. That post was from 2 days ago. I was hoping to see that yesterday, as I miss flying my Mooney. I’m hoping it’s today…
That’s excatly the sort of thing I’m hoping for as well.
It’s been 3 1/2 weeks since SU5 came out and broke a large number of the planes on the store and in that time MS have managed to release ONE plane update despite some Devs giving the updates to MS the week SU5 came out.
It’s taken forever to load in and marketplace is being funky so, hopefully soon
Note it was the CRJ update. Aerosoft are 1st party partners. They always get bumped to the front of the queue for their stuff. They’ll even see updates pushed on days that aren’t regularly scheduled update days. Same with the Working Title G1000 NXi wasn’t impacted by any of these delays. They had their stuff pushed every week on time as well.
Not all devs using the marketplace are equal in the eyes of Microsoft.
A case of:
“All DEVS are equal, but some DEVS are more equal than others”
And this is the way it is, in our Brave, New World.
and why not, as long as “No DEVS are left behind”
Except RXP, it would seem…
To be fair, from a corporate point of view its understandable.
WT is pretty much part of the MSFS development by now and Aerosoft is a well established company and partnered up.
Whereas many of the other Marketplace devs are significantly less “professional and/or trustworthy” (as in Hobbyist, Private persons, small outfits or even unknown entities etc.)
While WT and Aerosoft might skip some quality checks and skip the queue, the latter surely don’t (and shouldnt)
Just Flight and Orbx are very professional - what you talking about ?
You also have Carenado who are a pretty big name in Sims generally and signed up for a Marketplace exclusive contract (as well as providing the first third party release for MSFS) so, if it’s correct that they’ve sent patches to MS a while back the fact they haven’t been released after multiple weeks isn’t a very good look.
Seeing how many dumpster fire planes have ended up on the marketplace to date, I don’t think this has anything to do with it.
