In other words, which version gave you the best performance…the best graphical presentation… the most stable… etc…etc?
I always prefer the latest update, as the sim keeps improving and getting better!
Never had issues with installing updates or with crashes, but I can understand if such occurs to someone, that they would think less of a specific update (if the issue is related to that).

World Update 2 USA was the best experience so far. Almost no crashes and a working sim.

Between the release of the public beta and new year’s eve last week, there was a good run there where I was pretty darn happy with everything all around.

Best optic SU04 - but yes, you must have a highend rig for optimal performance
For performance/stable, SU07 i mean. But it can be look better. In VR a lot things are false.

The version that had gorgeous, high quality clouds & live weather that didn’t often change at the snap of fingers, render at short distances & perform somewhat unrealistically at low level.
The current clouds at ultra.

SU3/SU4. It looked gorgeous, performed ok and was really stable. It’s been going downhill since then.

After SU4 and 6 I had that feeling of „now we‘re on the right track“. These were solid updates as far as I remember and they didn‘t introduce many new issues.

I also like the SU-7 clouds and night lighting - when the weather works - but I’m still waiting for a hotfix for the globe cursor issue. Can’t turn the globe with a touchpad on my laptop, so I would say… my favorite is WU-6 Germany. I also regard Germany/Austria as the best scenery update sofar.

The clouds were pretty slick at release!!
Don’t know about the clouds in august 2020 at release, but in october 2020 they were really not pretty. Clouds and weather dialog improved with SU-4 (volumetrics, scatter sliders) and SU-7 (edges, slicing, color saturation). Also keep in mind between SU-4 and SU-5 hotfix the graphics settings were clipped. When people now say they prefer SU-4 I always find that strange. Short after SU-4 we got the Nordic update and settings were clipped to medium. People who prefer SU-4 don’t look at scenery, or they look at clouds only.

Except for VR (i only fly VR now, even if it is worse and worse with the time), i think the very first release was my favourite. For sim aspect, it didn’t evolved a lot and for visual, we just have a year of degradation on PC (it is a personal point of view, a feeling).

In terms of World Update I agree. The data for Switzerland in particular is the best I‘ve seen to date. Excellent DEM, high resolution imagery with no baked-in clouds and hardly any seasonal differences.
