What was your most expensive add-on for the MSFS 2020?

Purchased the Just Flight Hawk in their sale, £27 (UK price) a couple of days ago. No regrets - it’s stellar.

Most expensive airplanes are recent (after move to PC from xbox) and 100% worth it. If I knew what I know now I would saved a ton of money not buying the cheaper Carenado, “Local Legend” and other planes available on xbox which are fun for a few days and then forgotten. The expensive ones I will continue to use/learn for a while…

$60ish - Fenix A320.
$45 (sale) - PMDG DC-6.
$40 (sale) - Hawk T1.
$40 - 414.
$40 - 310.

I pretty much only fly these now plus the Sting S4 (which is cheaper - a bargain!)

My RTX 3090, bought it entirely for this sim and tbh not really used it for any other games so much.

Aside from that, the BAE 146 I think is very underrated, its an excellent aircraft (but there are many now).

I’ve only bought one so far (JF PA28 Warrior).

When Microsoft/Asobo fix the basic flight dynamics issues to do with ground to air transition/ground friction/crosswinds etc then I’ll consider buying more. For now every FS2020 aircraft addon suffers from the same issues as the native aircraft so I don’t see the point in wasting more money.

How does it compare with the Working Title NXi? Does it integrate with the sim?

Yes, it works like the RealSimGear and Virtual Fly G1000s in that they are all extra monitors that you can drag the MSFS G1000 screens into. The Virtual Fly and RealSimGear G1000s use HDMI cable to attach to your computer; the Aviatek version uses DVI. And then the buttons interface with MSFS via SimConnect. So if you have the Nxi installed, you will get the Nxi. If you use the stock G1000, it will give you the stock G1000.

If you have any other questions about it, feel free to ask here so we don’t take this thread off topic.

The RSG G1000 suite, does that count also? Got it just before my vacation so still in the box :grimacing:

Very nice. That would be straight out of the box..jelous. Thats almost as bad as purchasing a new aircraft just released and not taking it on a trial run (which I am guilty of)

Software, most expensive MCE anad Maddog I suppose.

Monthly subscriptions also..awww where does it end.

Hardware would be Alpha and Bravo.

Isn’t most of the time in the sim not on the ground?

To answer OP: The DC-6, I guess… though you could also say the H145 since buying the base pack and action pack is a lot of $$ too.

My RTX 3080 and then a CPU upgrade shortly after to a 5600X plus a new mother board. Then I had cooling problems so ended up having to buy a huge new Thermaltake case for it all with a new fan system. Then I bought a G2 VR headset. Basically this sim has cost me a whole new PC. Lol. Worth it though.

In terms of software add ons. Well, it certainly hasn’t been cheap their either. To be fair most AAA quality planes cost about the same don’t they? Around the £30 mark, give or take.

The H145 plus the action pack to go with it has been the most expensive over all. About £70 in total. That has been worth it too though. Really great fun and so much work has clearly gone into it. Its all still a work in progress too. Thats been a good investment.
