How do you know what has already been fixed in the dev branch?
From the linked post in this post:
Fenix is amazing. Itâs the only âgoodâ airliner in MSFS 2024 at the moment, although someone just told me they had a great experience w/ FBW A380 in 2024! Gonna have to try that!
Usually true, but now they deployed a showstopper (airport stuttering) with the latest patch which makes it almost impossible to play properly. Theyâve already fixed that problem internally. Considering this, this issue really needs a patch ASAP, they should release it as public beta at least.
I think itâs fair to say that anyone who has flown in vr fully understands the amount of effort and validation that when into this mythical vr platform.
Patch 3 was probably already in development before the game was even launched
The way patches work, much of it likely was, and much of it was quickly added after release.
Its crazy they are not releasing a quick fix for the major stutters at airports I and others are getting. It completely ruins the experience. Ive given up on 2024 for 6 months but try it quickly every few days see it changed but no⊠I really dont know whats going on with Asobo/MS. You would have thought that month after release there be some progress but no. Im at a loss to understand why the breaking bugs are just be left and not addressed ASAP. Just dissappointing and poor all around
Yes, but they also said that they will do release notes for them too in the future, so at least they should pop up here in the forum, ehen something changes in the backend.
Christmas is upon on. Many French devs at Asobo will likely take time off from this week until mid January.
No major patch of features will be released over the coming weeks. Therefore you should either suck up to 2024 flaws or play 2020 over the holidays.
Does it work with DX12? The screens are broken in 2020 right now, and you have to select âalternate rendererâ in their little authentication tool.
Yeah, you donât have to select alternative renderer anymore. Theyâve released about 3 updates since the launch of 2024. MSFS 2024 support is still marked experimental, but it works really well now.
That holiday will begin only next week, so still this week to release at least the fix for the gamebreaking airport stuttering issue.
Some companies seem to close for weeks around christmas for some reason.
But never me i always have to work
yep! works great; itâs still in âexperimentalâ status so no support comes from Fenix, but I fly it all the time in 2024.
Fenix is working well, really hard to go back to vanilla planes that are half broken one way or another. I would say Fenix in MSFS 2024 gives you an authentic experience of the sim
I have to say Iâm pleasantly surprised by Fenix rolling out fs2024 release with no upgrade costs/fees. Same goes for Miltech today with the ch47d free fs2024 native version for existing owners. Some other developers could learn from this. Customers will come back to these companies again and again.
Keep in mind, though, Fenix isnât reliant upon Asoboâs code like other devs are. Their sim is via ProSim which is an external sim system which is why (a) their plane works amazing, in spite of Asoboâs bad code and (b) they can somewhat make their plane work âwellâ in 2024 this quickly.
mid January?! get a month off, dang.
French holidays are long and workers there have generous rights.
In some European countries itâs not uncommon to take 2-4 weeks off over Christmas with zero guilt or ramification. This is good.
Even if people donât take 4 weeks off, half the team might be off for two weeks now, the others for two weeks after New Years Eve etc. This would be both across Asobo, Xbox and MS.
Big bugs need scoped, action planned, implemented, tested and verified post rollout. This canât be done whilst a big number of people are on annual leave.
