Just curious when will SU4 beta open up. Last time when SU2 went live, SU3 beta opened up same day or next day if I recall correctly.

There has been no official announcement yet on the start date of SU4.
When SU4 is ready to start, the CMs will post in Official Microsoft Flight Simulator > News & Announcements.

Being the peak holiday time I think it might be available early Sept this time around.
SU3 has been a monumental update and while there is still much to do, I really would like them to take a bit or a rest period here. I would like to take a break from complaining about 2024 too - I’m sure everyone is happy to hear that

when can we expect beta 4, the last update didn’t make that much differance, still stutters, jerks and poor quality textures after a while.

You may have noticed a lot of SU3 housekeeping the last few days so probably not that far out I expect.
Please, for the love of [enter deity here], fix the daytime instrument/gauge lighting in SU4!!!

Several SU3 updates actually didn’t happen (there’s a thread on it), so maybe it’ll take awhile (hope for good)

Hope they improve and polish the whole sim-engine very well.
The Beta SU 3 section has been archived, I wouldn’t be surprised if SU 4 comes out very soon…
In the news of August 28 on the official site, it is said:
Work continues on MSFS 2024, with the team preparing to start the public beta test for Sim Update 4 soon
Well I hope they fix night lighting. It’s my last major remaining pet peeve. That and they can always make more performance improvements.

Just in case anyone is interested, I went through the 2024 bugs list from the last development update, and copied out the lines that are SU4 relevant, either in progress, planned, or already fixed.

Following instructions to join the beta versión is not working .. ive tried everything uninstall install
Sign in and out insiders hub
Fill in websurvey with many webbrowsers
But i can get to install the beta versión i get the message that is taking to long and check later but i ve trying for days with no success
Can anybody help ?

There is no current available Beta version to download and test.
Maybe wait until SU4 Beta starts.

According to this Roadmap (scroll down to the Roadmap) we will have a surprise first. I don’t think the surprise has happened yet, has it?
Edit: As @Zadma points out below, the Roadmap refers to the release of SU4, not the release of SU4 beta, so it might be that the beta will be released before the first surprise.

Theoretically that surprise would be before SU4 release, not SU4 beta - could even be something incorporated into SU4.

My flight simming lately has been reduced to just checking the forums for any sign of the SU4 beta release. The current performance issues have completely killed my motivation to even start up the sim. At this point, it seems unlikely we’ll get anything for the weekend.

Yeah, I’ve backed off too. I’ve resorted to doing another playthrough of Cyberpunk 2077 to kill some time.
