when you activate the drone mode with any plane, first a sort of image on the water is activated and as soon as you exit, you find the plane in the air and it is falling.

Happened to me too. I fixed it by selecting the drone camera in the Camera dialog. From then on even when using the keyboard short cut (ctrl + X) I’ve not seen the issue again.

Had the same issue, restarted my PC, not happening anymore (so far).

Happens on every aircraft, default or payware. As soon I select drone camera view, plane bounces in the air and crashes.
I had this happen first time I tried it. A restart of the sim appears to have fixed for me thus far.

Yes, using the toolbar works. But, if you hit that keyboard key for drone camera it’s all over. I think after you use the toolbar once then the keyboard works for the rest of the flight.
Well I spoke too soon. The fenix works but the textures and lighting in the flightdeck don’t work too well- especially at night. I will say once SU3 gets ironed out- this might actually be the msfs2020 killer. There are a lot of graphical improvements hopefully no regressions now…

I had the same problem.
It disappeared after restarting the sim.
Do you have the nohandlebar mod installed? Removing it solved the issue for me

That may be placebo. I thought removing that mod fixed it for me too, but no, it came back even without that mod. That mod needs an update btw to work with su3, I am using a modified patch on that mod.
Only thing that seems to work somewhat reliably is using the tool bar to select showcase camera first at least once. Then the key bind works for me. But someone mentioned still having some issue in fenix buses.
In general su3 beta seems to be quite unstable at the moment. For example the efb and planner issues. Some of the instability may be due to my community folder items.
Did happened to me several times. Even after using the shortcut from the toolbar, every times I press the keyboard shortcut, I move somewhere… Last 24 hours and several reboot and relaunch.
And suddenly, my keyboard shortcut works. Have no clue why it’s (still) working 
PC, Steam, sim ver 1.5.1.0.
C172-G1000 at YBAF - both Drone cam and Free cam work perfectly for me.

Same here on the first flight I tried.
Wild.
It’s like the drone cam jumps to a totally remote location in the middle of the ocean, all the scenery gets unloaded, and when you switch back everything gets thrown around and the scenery all has to load back in again.

I find that hitting the keyboard shortcut for the drone while on the ground causes this, if you’re in the air flying it doesn’t happen.
It certainly happened to me while in the air as well.
If it helps the devs at all, it seems to always send the drone camera to Lat/Long 1.0000/1.0000

I think you meant Shift + X , not Ctrl X . In any case, I don’t see this issue when I select the drone camera from the top menu or press Shift X . The only modifications I have are shown in the screenshot below
Confirming I have the same issue. Drone camera just goes crazy when selecting it.

I see one comment indicating that a toolbar mod may be causing the issue, so before I log this internally for investigation, the more details you can all provide the better equipped our testing team will be!
