Where are my premium deluxe aircrafts form 2020

So, it turns out they chose to sort aircraft by ui_createdby and icao_model, rather than the old ui_manufacturer, ui_type, ui_variation.

I have no idea why they didn’t realize this would completely screw up the library. So, if planes are missing, search by the author of the plane you’re looking for, and then click into planes, you may find their other ones there.

I’m really upset, this is going to create a completely disorganized library of planes. Unbelievable.

Liveries are created by other authors, so they’ll show up as different planes. The same planes will be listed together even though they’re very different, icao_model is often left out or completely wrong in so many aircraft. It’s going to be a complete mess.

I think we’re also running into a situation that not all planes have been migrated to 2024 yet, either, as they’re still having compatibility issues, so, there’s that, too.

Not only that, but, while technically correct, it’s going to screw up the organization further, they ignore the order of the [flightsim.xxx] field that used to be used to sort variations, and list the variations alphabetically now, making ui_variation useless to document the actual variation name if people start naming them to control the sort order instead of what the variation is, or, at least make the variation name longer with extra characters for sorting.

WIthout the ability to create favorites and sort order of our variations, and losing the manufacturer field as a sorting field, I just… sigh.

The people who created the UI for MSFS 2024 were pretty obviously not users of MSFS or enthusiasts familiar with the ecosystem. Hopefully, Asobo will be open to suggestions for improvement and wholesale rewriting of portions of how the UI is organized in certain aspects. It seems pretty good, but there are some aspects that are just crazy, the library organization being the one that irks me. Then again, I’m still waiting for my U.S. LCE from Aerosoft, that wasn’t delayed , so, I imagine I’ll find other things that could use improvement.
