Where is the MSFS 2024 community Folder?
%appdata%/Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024/Packages on my system (Steam)
I’m sure at 97% it’s in the old 2020 folder and not in the drive you choose to install the game.
I downloaded from the Microsoft Store
I have Steam. I assume the Community folder is “Community” here, but I’m not sure what the other two are.
I still have no clue how to make a custom Community folder like in 2020 with the steam version. My game is installed on the dedicated F: drive, but the Community folder is on C: in the appdata folder
They are most probably for Marketplace packages downloaded to your computer instead of being streamed.
Same; this is the question a ton of us are asking and no official response. I don’t want the community folder on my C: drive. And I told Xbox App on PC to install the game on my D: drive, which it did, but the community folder still resides on C:.
It’s here (on the C drive even if you installed the game on another drive).
C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages
For FS2024, the Community and Official folders do not exist
on your local PC.
Official is on the Cloud.
Community is now “Library” and is on the cloud.
C:\Users\xxxxAppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Community
If you go to the “my library”, you can actually change the location to wherever you want…
No, I think this is not true.
Hello @MSFSRonS,
This information is incorrect. There is still a Community Folder on your local PC. The default locations are:
Steam
C:\Users[Your Username]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024\Packages\Community
MS Store
C:\Users[Your Username]\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Community
Thanks,
MSFS Team
And these locations can be changed? Sorry haven’t been able to log into the game yet after 4 hours of trying to check.
Can you please also provide a response on how to change them?
You can’t without editing config files. MS knows better than you how to manage folders on your own PC:
Thanks.
That’s a pretty useless location when I’ve got my MSFS2024 installed on D:\ and don’t have much space left on C:\
There’s a reason why we can chose to install on a certain drive and with MSFS2020 it always worked.
Is there a way to move the Community folder?
Edit:
Just saw the video after I wrote the post. Will try it. Easy enough fix. Thanks @stekusteku
What if I want it on another drive than my boot drive as : E:\MSFS2024\Limitless\Community ??? As this drive is from 2024 only with a lot of space?
who thought it is a good idea to force install this game on C. I have no words for that. C is for windows thats it. no sane person installs games on C. I have a 2TB M2 at H: but the game want to run from my 500GB C: SDD. This is pathetic
