Where is the MSFS 2024 community Folder?

Can you just create links to the content of the FS2020 into that new Content folder for FS2024? Or will FS2024 alter things in the old content folder then (which I dont like). =P

Probably going above my level of knowledge there
I just went for the easy option!
I don’t think 2024 alters anything in the community folder though!

Hi, i tied this as well but when i try to copy these 3 folders i get a message that its not allowed to copy them ( auf deutsch: ihre organisation erlaubt es nichit die ordner zu kopieren
)

I read that somebody else had that issue
but works fine for me!
Trying to remember what I did

I dont think I copied the folders
I just created a location ‘Flight simulator 2024’ on my new drive, then told MSFS where this new location was and it automatically created the the three new folders (one of which is the community folder) in there.

Yes and no, because not all airports, airplanes, and add-ons that work with MSFS 2020 will be compatible with MSFS 2024. Therefore, it’s recommended to have two separate folders. However, you can create a symlink to the MSFS 2020 community folder and set it up so that the MSFS 2024 version uses it - this is not recommended.

Moderator Edit: Internet Translation:
You just have the MS STore version. It has such stupid rights on the folders again, that’s not the case with the STeam Verion. It should be enough if you just create your parent folder for the data somewhere and then assign it to the UI. He would then have to automatically recreate the subfolders.

Ok, followed the instructions and now have the MS24 Community/ Official folders in my E:/
Copied a couple of aircraft from my MS20 Community folder to the new MS24 Community folder BUT they do not appear in MSFS2024!
Any ideas what I’m doing wrong? Appreciate your help.

There is a workaround I think: create a zip archive with the three folders in the original location, then move that to the new one and unzip there.

Did you update the UserCfg.opt file?

Put E:\MSFS2024 inside the quotes.

Got a few things in mine already that work just fine. They did as of Day 3 when I first tried it.

On startup of FS2024, the location of the Community folder is reverted back to the location where it was installed.

Perhaps this location choice should be part of the installation process
 :expressionless:

When I install on C drive then I go to Users/Appdata/local/packages/limitless path when I get to packages its empty. What am I doing wrong? Store Version

Should be here:

C:\Users\yourid\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages
