Hello, I’ve read that extra airplanes can be purchased for this simulator but when I go to Microsoft Store I find only the 3 versions of the game but can’t find any airplane sold separately, please help. Thanks.
there’s new planes in the marketplace inside the game, that’s where i buy them.

You have two options, the in-game marketplace or on the third-party publishers/developers website.
If you buy an aeroplane (or any other addon) through the in-game store, you can manage your download and updates through the content manager. Otherwise, you will have to manage the install and updates yourself.
If you buy addons outside of the simulator, some developers include their own launchers/updaters for their products. But if you buy plenty of add-ons you could find yourself in a situation where you have multiple programs just to keep your addons up to date.
The biggest downside with the in-game store is that it is very slow to approve new addons or updates for existing ones at present. This has been quite frustrating for some users who are unable to use their addons, while other people who brought it directly from the developer have been able to install an update can.

And this is why I’m really unlikely to buy something outside of the store, even though I did once, and recently. But because I have to be diligent about checking for updates and downloading/installing them on my own, I am now questioning even that purchase.
But in the future, unless it’s something I want BAD (like say a PMDG 737NG), I’ll only be buying things from the store.

Other issue is MSFS seems quite delicate with updates as to what addons compatibility carries over :(. This is why I’ve not touched any Addons yet until the updates are a little less core-game and more content when its matured a bit.
Need more in-game planes! :).

One benefit of external purchases is you can more easily manage the versions yourself. I don’t keep any backups of the sim installation folder itself, so if a Marketplace aircraft gets an update which is “bad”, I can’t easily revert to the prior version. For external purchases I would have the previous ZIP file to revert to, if I so choose.
The other benefit being updates being available quicker than the current process for the Marketplace.
All that said, I don’t own any, based on my original thought process of easy updates managed centrally, and some kind of vetting process before something would be allowed on to the store.
Same here, I agree. I have kept my “Core” MSFS system clean and free of any addon products. I will wait until the core program and addons mature a bit. Something that could be a result of keeping a clean core MSFS program is that I have not had a single CTD since installation.

Anyone know when the 737 will be available for download?
If you’'re speaking of PMDG’s 737, it may be a while. Search is your friend… Do a search on this forum for PMDG and you will find lots of information pertinent to your question. Also, PMDG’s website probably has lots. I have a feeling though that you are looking for us to answer you with: “mm/dd/yyyy” is the release date. Sorry…
Cheers..yes I just read an article on there site going back to September 20 that it could be a year. I’m disappointed that there isn’t even a default on msfs2020.
You are not alone! Also, I should have offered “dd/mm/yyyy” for our across-the-pond friends…
A default 737 would probably not have been good for PMDG, as someone like FBW would probably have made it better and get it completed before the PMDG version sees the light of day. 
Same reason I don’t buy anything from 3rd parties. The only exception I made was for RomanDesign’s CNC3 airport. I fly out of there often in the sim, and he did an incredible job of it. To me it was worth buying it from him. About a month later, his CNC3 was added to the marketplace for the same price. Had I known it was going to be added, I would have waited. Ditto for his newest airport. I’m waiting for it to hit the marketplace so I can keep all my stuff updated from within the sim.
I already have to manually update enough 3rd party mods as it is (WorkingTitle mods, GNS520, Turbo Bonanza, TBM improvement). I’d rather not add more to manage..
