You can’t do a study level military jet, there’s nowhere near enough systems available ( or enough unclassified data for quite a lot of them ). Only place to get close is DCS.

Oh well :frowning:

Tried DCS but not the same without the msfs scenery

You could do a study level vintage bird with a load of inop systems, I guess - it’s a lot easier to get flight data for retired aircraft ( and access to them too ) - but that does seem to be rather missing the point, unfortunately, they don’t even make very good GA aicraft!

It won’t be easy to have a X-15 launched from a 747. :screwdriver: :nut_and_bolt: :wrench:

A turbine Duke would be awesome too! Was one of my faves in FSX!

I asked Xtreme Prototypes some time ago and they said they will bring their X-15 to MSFS. However, there’s no news on their website.

In light of Ivan, I saw this on Twitter:

But, it apparently already exists as (mediocre) freeware.

Still pining for a DA42 (4-seater bubble-top version of the 62) - I’d pay good money for a study level rendition of that plane, or still would be quite happy with a decently detailed one, even if not fully simulated down to the last rivet

You just can’t beat that cockpit view. It’s the perfect leisure cruiser for FS

I know a DA42 pilot who’s had a chance to fly a 62 every now & then, he reckons they’re funcitonally identical in the air…I prefer the look of the 42 too, mind.

Miles Gemini… a charming late 1940’s light twin, winner of a number of contemporary competitions, and one of the few (relative) success stories of post-war British civil aviation.

Famed RAF ace Douglas Bader flew one of these for a while while working for Shell oil.

North American B25 Mitchel. The Mid Atlantic Air Museum did an excellent version of this for FSX.

Haha cool! Four turbines mounted on the rear. This is really something new. But I assume this is one of these airplanes that tilt over and sit on their back when one or two passengers make the mistake entering through the backdoor with a too heavy suitcase…

FWIW the main landing gear is pretty far in the back, so that shouldn’t be much of an issue.

Also, these are pretty small low-bypass turbofans.

In that case we can replace it with it’s bigger Soviet cousin, it has no doors in the rear

An RAF Hawker Siddeley Nimrod MR.2. A heavily modified de Havilland Comet.

I remember the great freeware Nimrod in FSX that got a lot of use.

Yeah, and I marshalled him in once at RAF Wittering in that aircraft. Not a pleasant man!!!

Not a cousin mate - just a rip off version that didn’t work very well.
