Thanks, have you flown it?
No, it’s not my style. I like GA personally. But over at SOH there’s a thread from 2023 that might give you some insight:
And then there’s another thread from last year discussing an update that was issued:
Now that Flight Simulator 2024 has support for airships, I’d like to see larger airships like the Graf Zeppelin or USS Macon. Not super detailed just something basic and low fidelity to play with. Maybe as a famous flier or local legend. It doesn’t need the whole crew area and the inside of each engine car modeled or every ballast tank or gas cell simulated. Just a good looking exterior model and control gondola to fly it from.
Black Square PC12 (analogue)
Taog’s Hangar Sikorsky SH-3 Sea King
PMDG Embraer E195
Fenix Airbus A220
Just Flight Fokker F50
A B-25. Or a B-17. Or a B-26. Or a B-24.
Don’t worry. If it’s a contracted LL/FF then they won’t be.
There is a zeppelin that was done by Red wing in the marketplace. It is modeled after the Hidenburg. I have not personally flown it but it appears to be fairly detailed with a crew compartment and such. Might give it a whirl if that interests you.
Yah I’ve tried it. Its honesty awful. Very poorly optimized.
That’s too bad. Sorry to hear that it isn’t any good. It looks really neat and I was considering trying it but I won’t bother if it’s that bad. Hopefully someone will make a decent one for you then.
MSFS20 doesnt support lighter then air physics.
I think Redwing used the flight model for the electric vtol thing and dressed it up to make it work.
That makes sense. I guess sometimes you have to work with what is available but it may not turn out great.
In order to not completely hijack the thread here. I am hoping someone makes a good version a Convair 440 series. I feel like the 50s and 60s era airliners are missing a bit in the sim and I love that era. A Howard 500 would be amazing as well. Really any of the Howard conversions, Super Ventura, 250, 500 would be great in the sim.
Last year i spoke with Cockspur and they said they will wait till msfs2024 comes out to decide if they will do the G650ER for 2020 or 2024. Unfortunately heard from them yesterday and they have cancelled the development project all together, which is very sad to hear.
That is indeed very, very sad to hear. I was looking forward to that Gulfstream. Did they say why or if someone else would pick it up?
Well the Short Sterling four engine bomber is out but what I really want is the Lancaster. I love flying that in P3D. Will buy it as soon as it released, waiting patiently ![]()
Vickers Viscount, Dove/Heron, Comet, Carvair, Trident, Liberator, Oxford, Herald/Dart,DC-8.
Priority of those - Viscount
Unfortunately they didn’t say why. They kept their response very short and direct.
How were they going to do a Gulfstream? Every thread I’ve seen it’s been preety unanimous that Gulfstream doesn’t want their product to be part of the sim world
Can’t they just make it, and not call it a Gulfstream? Some developers have gone that route.
