This place is another example of top quality PG. The buildings are very detailed and the PG area is BIG!. The hills look amazing what with all the little villages tucked in-between. Only had a quick look, but I’m currently Manual Caching it as I will be flying here quite a bit. Plenty to explore! A more detailed review to follow later
Turin (Torino), Italy (nearest airport: LIMF = gotta be a 10/10 (not quite 11)
Amazing place with tons to see but some pretty broken up PG too in a few places, otherwise it would be an 11 from me.
Bonus points for the Lingotto Building (the old FIAT factory) having a landable helipad (and you can land on the test track too actually), which is great fun.
Turin, Italy is rather nice. I noticed the broken up PG in places too but as you say its an amazing place withs loads to see. Gets a 10/10 from me.
It’s brilliant when they have helipads you can land on in PG areas. I noticed Sarajevo has a building with a landable helipad too.
I’ve got another PG city that I’ve never flown in that’s getting added to the list. This time in the U.S.A
It was listed in the City Update 9: Northeastern United States.
Allentown, Pennsylvania.
This gets an 11/10 from me. The PG is really good quality and it covers a huge area spanning quite a few miles east and west of the city. It’s a super diverse area with plenty to explore. It’s also very well blended with the non PG areas and in some areas it’s that hard to tell that you’ve flown out of the PG area until you see some AI farm buildings etc. Did a rather nice flight along the river which is all PG and an added bonus is it’s not all flat scenery, there’s hills and quarry’s too!
Another bonus is that it’s a short flight to New York, Philadelphia or Baltimore
Airports and Airfields in the PG area
KABE, KXLL, 29PA, 2PA0, PA68, 943, 2NJ5, 70NJ
I’m currently Manual Caching it and I estimate it will probably be over 250GB due to the size and high quality detail which is going to take me most of the day But it will be worth it
This is one place that’s going in my personal “all time Top 10”
I’m going to check that out next Love Venice @Baracus250 recommended it and I keep going back there, but there’s just never enough time in the day or night to fly everywhere I want to
I’ve just been flying north of KABE in Allentown and just found this little beauty!
Was flying in VR checking out all the farms and the detail is astonishing especially the crops in the fields! You can see the farmers have started harvesting and wow I’m just blown away how good this Sim is! Then I looked out my window to my right and spotted that weird crop circle with some words that I couldn’t make out. God I love this Sim
That’s not really the point of this topic IMO. It is not (and never will be) a complete list of all PG cities.
The point is to rank them so the best are higher up.
If you wanted to, you could follow that link to Google Sheets (airports list), save the document to your own account, then you can do whatever you want with re-ordering the list A-Z.
But as I say, it’s not a complete list. I have that if you want though (just DM me and I’ll send it to you)
EDIT: maybe I misunderstood what you are asking for. Maybe you didn’t see that @AirRhodesia DOES combine all new entries into a single table and updates it regularly.
If you follow the “Solution” link in post 1 (at the bottom of that post) it will always jump to the most recent update.
Currently it is this:
But it’s still ranked into a few A-Z groups (sections) based on quality.
Thanks, I really appreciate the love and thanks to everyone that keeps contributing!
@sttovo I get what you’re saying but my intention was and is to highlight the best PG areas to fly in according to PG quality, the landscape, interesting features and the size of the area in PG so that other people can decide for themselves where they want to fly and fall in love with next. Much of the time with new World Updates and City Updates the information can be quite overwhelming and it can be quite difficult to choose a new place to fly based only on what Microsoft/Asobo have to say about the areas, so my way of thinking is to check all these areas out myself and find new areas of PG that haven’t been included in the official list and rate them with a bit of a description that I think other users would find helpful.
And thanks to everyone that has made suggestions on this thread, because without them there are many places myself and others would have never discovered and fallen in love with!
@Baracus250 couldn’t have said it better and I’m sure that over time with his help there will be many more improvements made to this list as well as the Airports in PG areas list too thanks to @Mbraortns
Budapest, Hungary. I’m going to give this one 10/10 possibly 11/10 (need to check it out a bit more first).
The PG quality is really good and the size of the area is really really big.
Loads of Airports and Airfields in the PG area
LHBP, LHTL, LHBS, LHDK, LHVE, LHGD
The PG runs all along the river. The hills are gorgeous with some really nice rocky detail on some of them. Far too much to explore. This is going to take some time to Manual Cache
The aerial satellite imagery you mean? No, nothing to do with that. PG photography also covers the ground so in a PG area, you are not seeing aerial imagery at all.
I’m noticing the fields, no mazes yet but the mowed areas and overall detail are excellent.
I live out in the fields and it’s perfect with mowing and harvest going on.
I suggest adding all the remaining cities in WU XIV,
Prague, Plzen, Ljubljana, Maribor, Sarajevo, Banja Luka
Banja Luka is amazing, I started at the city west of Celinac, PG all the way up the valley will all those houses along the way!
I was struck by the strange sameness of the whole area, it was unique in that IMHO
