Found another maze!
Can’t post pics but super short vids work yay.
Can’t post pics but super short vids work yay.
Thanks will change it in a bit when I do an update to the PG list.
Going to check all these out quickly and give them a rating and also add them to the list. To help me out what’s your rating of these?
Nice ![]()
Will try find that one later.
Prague - huge and excellent. Older town area as spectacular as anywhere I’ve seen and a big hill fort with its own cathedral.
Does anyone know why there are so many Prague and Praha city markers?
Pizen(Pilsen?) - small area but good PG, and a large industrial area with almost Zagrebian detail level.
Ljubljana - medium size, very nice colors in the west and east industrial areas
Maribor - smaller with great industrial color, old town on the river and an old dam? To the west
Ah I see your new post, and will stop here your ratings are spot on.
Honestly all off these deserve a good day of flying to see it all.
I’ve had a quick look and these are my ratings…
Plzen, Czechia 10/10
Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina 10/10
Ljubljana, Slovenia, 9/10
Maribor, Slovenia 9/10
I really like Plzen and Banja Luka, they’re all getting added along with the usual description ![]()

I think I would like to EDIT one of my previous entries if possible please @AirRhodesia ?
Let’s add Bristol to the Cardiff + Newport one. Reason is, it’s basically continuous PG (if you count crossing the river Severn). I flew FROM Bristol, north and was surprised to see PG on the other coast, but it was part of Newport (east part) so you actually got the whole MASSIVE area of Bristol PLUS the already quite big Newport then Cardiff further west - with quite nicely changing landscape between them all. I think it deserves to be mentioned together. And it’s the only one that crosses two countries?!
The PG quality is a bit mixed (some good, some a bit wonky) but overall it’s decent (same as Cardiff and Newport is a bit rubbish in places. Probably should come down to the 9/10 section though since we have seen all these other great ones lol?
I will add a few more over the weekend if that is OK! I still got my mega-list to go through but didn’t want to post them all at the same time, and I see some have been mentioned now anyways ![]()
No problem at all. I’ll edit it now ![]()
I totally agree with you there ![]()
All done just need to update the Airports in PG areas list next ![]()
EDIT: Done and done ![]()
Makes sense to consolidate the ones that can be. That way the list won’t get too big and makes space for “more” to be added ![]()
If anyone else wants to change the rating of a particular City please don’t hesitate to let me know and I’ll only be too happy to change it. ![]()
I had made a list of airports in the general Boston vicinity but I don’t think its even possible to land at all of them because some are hard to find and one I am really not sure exists and that is KIAC.
So I didn’t post my list but rather set out on an effort to identify all airports in PG in the entire state of Florida – because I love flying there. But now I have hit a second snag and that is simply that some of these airports look great from the air but are really not much to see when you land. In the Washington DC region, all the airports are worthwhile in my opinion. I will continue with Florida but it will take me a loooong time to double and triple check my efforts.
What we really need imo is for Asobo to allow us to tag and categorize our favorite airports on the flight planning map. What I really need anyway.
So Boston:
KGHG,MA63,MA64,28M,NZW,KOWD,KBOS,KBED,KBVY,6B6,MA52,8MA4,MA70,9B1,09MA,1MA5,KORH,KFIT,KLWM,04MA,KIAC,MA36
@AirRhodesia I don’t know how to format a list to make it the easiest to deal with. Is a comma separated list good or would something else be better?
I’m going to add Boston to the PG Cities list as it’s a gorgeous city especially with the SamScene3D U.S.A Cities addon. I found the same problem in certain PG areas with finding airports/airfields that were on the VFR map in the sim. Some are so hard to find, one example comes to mind in Barcelona LESK. Looks like a farmers field and can’t even tell where the grass runway is.
I often look on flightsim.to’s scenery map to see if there’s a freeware version of the airport there but often there isn’t, then trying to land on said airfield can be hit and miss due to the PG and uneven ground etc.
Completely agree with you there. It would be a nice feature to have.
If you’re talking about making a list for your own use like the list of Airports in PG Cities then Google Docs is the way to go.
@Baracus250 was the one who taught me how to create and use Google Docs list. I had never used it before and its fairly easy to learn which I’m still learning, but he’s the man to ask and I’m sure he wont mind helping you.
The same goes for if you’re wanting to create a list for use on this forum. I’m still learning that too by trail and error but gradually improving lol.
The first way I did my list was just a plain notepad .txt file format which was just me being lazy on my part. It did the job but then @Baracus250 created a template (.txt) for use on this forum which made use of TABLES which could be easily be edited to add what you wanted then copied and pasted on here. The second one was a Google Docs blank template that all I had to do was fill in the boxes etc. Made things much easier and they looked a heck of a lot better too. It was much easier to add or change things and then he taught me how to make it look really pretty like using colours, aligning the text etc. Google Docs is really easy to use once you learn the basics and now I won’t use anything else lol.
I’m sure when @Baracus250 sees this post he will be happy to help you. As he can no doubt create a template for you much much quicker then I ever could.
What would help is to give us a basic idea of the kind of info you want in your list.
But for now I will send you a PM with the .txt template just so you can have a play around with it and see if it’s something you would use.
If you’re wanting to use a better list i.e Google Docs then more info on what you want on that list will help @Baracus250 create one for you if he doesn’t mind ![]()
Think I may have misunderstood your question, I blame just waking up and lack of coffee ![]()
Anyways the way you listed the airports in the Boston area is totally fine. I can add them to the list quite easily that way ![]()
Heheh yeah I think that was the question too but happy to help if you need anything @mbraortns
![]()
Coffee has finally kicked in haha, Going to do an update of the list later. I’m adding the following…
Philadelphia, PA, U.S.A
Miami, FL, U.S.A 10/10
and Boston, MA, U.S.A that @mbraortns suggested.
Got SamScene3D U.S.A Cities Vol 1 last night and It makes a huge difference to these places, Only bought it because I wanted L.A but flew in the ones mentioned above and was that impressed that I think they deserve to go on the list. They all getting a rating of 10/10 ![]()
Isn’t Miami too FLAT to get a 10?!
Only half-joking lol
All of Florida is like a snooker table flat!
Haha yes it is in my book, I like hills and flat can be boring, but it has skyscrapers, and I love skyscrapers
However it’s full of old folks and they’re the backbone of what made and makes America Great! ![]()
Did a few flights around Miami and it has a special place in my heart as the TV show Dexter was set there ![]()
It does actually look really nice with the SamScene3D addon hence my rating 10/10. PG is quite nice too. And I can pretend I’m on holiday there as I’ll probably never get to go there IRL. Other places in the world are higher up on the list for obvious reasons ![]()
I also like snooker haha and flat can be good if you need to land quickly in an emergency ![]()
yeah, coffee is a necessity! I learned the basics of Google docs about a year ago but I don’t know that much. I thought maybe a certain separator (comma, semicolon, etc) might make it easier to import the data into a google doc… was not sure… Ill keep doing commas.
I get the feeling you guys have never flown much of Florida. Try a flight from Sarasota to Tampa to Lakeland to Orlando to Sanford to Daytona Beach and then south along the east coast for a bit. Theres tons of good PG in there.
No I’ve not really flown much in Florida. I did do a few flights when I first got MSFS2020, but with my old PC the PG scenery never looked as good as it does now with my new rig. Had a flight earlier from Miami quite some way up the coast and it was just non stop PG. Really starting to love that part of the U.S now, even though its flat as a pancake ![]()
Thanks for that suggestion. Will do that flight next. ![]()
I have a feeling I’m going to be manual caching quite a bit of Florida next.
Nice addition of the flags mate! ![]()
As promised here’s another batch from me.
Salzburg (LOWS) in Austria. Whilst nowhere near the best PG quality, the location is fantastic (terrain), Which for me puts it in the 8/10 category (worth a look). Also comes with a nice handcrafted airport (LOWS). Performance is a bit jank on my system though.
Berlin (EDDB). I’m surprised this one hasn’t been mentioned before. it’s really big and since the update they’ve stretched it out even further into the outskirts and outlying villages. I suppose it should be a 10/10.
Whilst in Germany I’d also mention Mannheim, Stuttgart, Esslingen and Frankfurt from City Update 6. There were more cities in this update but these four stand out as been of a higher quality and more interesting to explore. I’d give them a 9/10 overall I suppose.
Seville (LEZL) in Spain is a really charming city with some very interesting looking historic buildings. Not the biggest place but really sharp PG so I’d give this one an easy 10/10, maybe even 11.
Vigo (LEVX). Unfortunately the airport is in autogen land but if you head directly West the reveal to the city is fantastic with some really nice landscapes. The PG quality is above average and blended really well with the surroundings. It’s quite a small area but very dense. Just a thin strip along the coast, but it does wrap around down to the south quite far (down to Bayona). 8/10
And whilst in Spain let’s add
Jerez (LEJR). A nice city with above average quality, 9/10. Can you find the race track!?
In Portugal, just noticed that you missed
Porto (LPPR) from one of my previous posts. I wrote “Not as sharp but the terrain and architecture is interesting.” 9/10
Coimbra (LPCO). Not particularly big or with any specifically “stand out” buildings but I’d still put it in the worth a look camp (8/10) due to its more rural location in the hilly countryside which is fun to go low in helicopters.
Amiens (LFAY) in France. A medium size area with a lot of the outlying villages being covered and some interesting stuff to find, blended fairly well to the surroundings. 8/10.
Also surprised that
Paris has not been mentioned? I think it’s great! I do have a few other French cities to re-check so that will be my next batch I guess but mostly I think they are pretty bad quality (weird shapes, soft blurry textures) but interesting cities themselves.
Bern (LSZB) in Switzerland – also a new handcrafted airport with a nice bit of detail! – is pretty interesting, with a good few handcrafted POI’s to see there and stretching into the countryside quite far in some directions. I’ll actually give this one a 10/10 because the city layout is so interesting with the river snaking deep down below it. Again, I got performance issues here (not as bad), but I don’t know what they’ve done with this world update. So annoying.
And
Geneva (LSGG) should go in at 8/10 too. Not the biggest area, but of course stunning backdrop to the scenery here so “worth a good look”!
Queenstown (NZQN) in New Zealand needs to be added too for the same reason IMO! Not the biggest area or the best quality ever (the photogrammetry of the buildings is frankly really poor though not the worst), but it doesn’t really matter as the whole atmosphere of the place is super, the landscape is wonderful with loads of nooks and crannies and the photogrammetry on the hills with stones and such is actually pretty decent. I think this was Asobo’s first example of photogrammetry for mountains. Has to be a 10/10. The scenery alone (with PG off I mean) is a 20/10! It’s off the charts on the “interesting to fly” scale!
I’m always amazed how small the actual town part of QueensTOWN is considering it’s such a famous and significant airport. It weaves around a lot of places though so interesting to explore IMO.
Sorry for the extra workload @AirRhodesia! I don’t think there’s TOO many airports within these regions. Not like in America anyway ![]()
I just checked out Port-Vendres. Very nice little place - love it! Really interesting roads everywhere and the castle on the bay, lighthouses and densely packed housing. Wow!
I think you may have missed listing Stockholm and Liverpool that I mentioned before?
Very nice list mate! Going to crack on with it now.
Totally agree with you on this one. Performance on mine is bad too due to the Handcrafted Airport. Think its something to do with that.
Agree 100% with you there!
Mannheim is very close to Heidelberg so I think I’ll bundle them together, but I think the both of them deserve a 10/10 as the PG quality is extremely good especially the industrial areas of Mannheim.
Stuttgart & Esslingen should also be bundled together IMO as they’re so close and I agree on the 9/10.
Frankfurt is not that far from Mannheim but it gets its a 9/10 from me too.
Sorry have no idea why I haven’t added this to the list yet. Too busy adding other places
But I agree with your rating of 11/10. PG is so good and it’s a unique city!
Agree with you there, 8/10 from me too.
Wow what a nice place this one is. 9/10 is about right. PG blended well with non PG. Will have a look for racetrack later on. I only had a very quick look at it ![]()
Correct there mate, another one I’ve missed, It’s a 9/10 from me too.
Agree with you there too!
Wow! what a lovely place! 8/10 from me due to the PG which is good but not the best.
I flew in Paris when the Olympics were on and I have to say it was a melted mess. The non PG areas really let it down too. Might be that I’d have to Manual Cache it first and check it out again.
Agree with you again on this one mate. 10/10 But performance issues with the handcrafted Airport is a shame!
Flew here the other day just to check it out again. It also gets an 8/10 from me too. Backdrop is amazing but PG isn’t the best.
Never flown here so I need to check it out in a bit! Thanks for the detailed review on this one and all the others.
I’ll add them all to the list, I might get it done in time to upload an Update later tonight.
Don’t worry about the extra workload haha, I’m getting better and faster at looking stuff up and finding the Airports in PG areas and adding them to the lists that you created the layout on, so it’s easy enough to just add stuff to them now!
It is a nice little place. Can’t wait for MSFS2024 to come out, hopefully there will be quite a few more gems like that one to find!
I’ll be sure to add those to the list. Forgetful me ![]()
