Which are your "Top favourite Cities/Places" with the best Photogrammetry to fly in? MSFS2024 + MSFS2020 LIST

Actually no, it looks good but it was quite pricey, I have it wishlisted but don’t remember seeing it in a sale. I have most of the seafront sims packs. Incidentally this is one reason I’ve not flown Italy much. Except at FL350.

It looks like MSFS 2024 might fix boats and coastlines globally. :crossed_fingers:

Yeah, I wouldn’t bother buying it now! It is really good though. Got my money’s worth

I love the Cli4D products too (rocks and stuff). Not PG so this is not the topic for it! Sorry for the OT!

Great list!

London is listed twice and I personally would put it in the top bracket, I would rate it over Cork. It’s now top tier quality with the last update and a huge area to explore. The only letdown is the sandy river but for PC users there an fs.to mod that can fix that.

Care to share which mod that is so we don’t have to try and find it ourselves (I didn’t). Thanks!

(Wasn’t hard to find lol. “London thames” search had a grand total of one result  )

Thanks I didn’t notice I had put it in twice. Edited the list and its gone to the top. I agree with you rating it above Cork. :+1: And I’ve also updated most of the notes with information users have submitted plus my own, again if anyone want’s anything adding or changing just let me know.

Good work. It’d be handy to mark the table post as the solution, and then do the same each time you replace it. Then users can get to the current list easily from the top.

Thanks for that tip. Was just thinking how I would do that so people don’t have to scroll through every message. Will do that each time it gets updated :+1:

Thanks for making the list, I like the detailed info on the places. Would love a world map with all this info!

Been to Corsica, Elba, and Italy top to bottom with no new PG found. Nice topography definitely though.

After such a lot of unremarkable places,

I’m going to keep Rouen in my list, it’s detailed and different enough, although it has a very abrupt PG cutoff that looked a bit strange and very green as I flew over, with a small area of tiling on the border between high and low detail.

And I actually had a ctd! That’s only happened 4-5 times in my msfs history.
I must drive it crazy, constantly starting flights and exiting them in the search for PG gold.
Jumper out…

No worries.

Having a world map is a great idea although I have no idea how to go about doing one. Will look into it though.

Thanks for looking. I’ve not had time to but will have a look for more unlisted PG areas in a bit.

I’ll add it to the list for Sundays update. It’ll be in the 8/10 Still worth a look category, so people can check it out themselves. I’d imagine anyone who lives there would want to see it on the list :+1:

I must admit I’ve had a CTD by doing the exact same thing. I very rarely get CTD’s now a days.

Happy discoveries :small_airplane:

There kind of is one already, you can change the filter to 3d cities only…

Had a good look at the Map and it’s really good. Would be amazing if the PG cities showed a score out of 10 for quality etc. It would save people time. I’m slowly going through some of the PG cities and checking their quality and size and some of them so far aren’t very good quality at all but there are a few nice surprises. There will be a few new additions to the list this Sunday :+1:

Hi all - I’d like to add this info. First I wanted to make a map that showed which airports were inside PG regions but that became too complex so I just have a couple lists. Ill post this list of airports inside the Washingon DC region PG:

KFDK 4MD8 3MD0 MD75
0MD6 MD78 MD47 W50
MD46 KMTN W48 KBWI
MD43 KFME W18 W29
3W3 7MD8 KANP 3MD4
W00 MD22 KADW KVKX
W32 2W5 MD39 MD05
MD83 5MD8 Quantico
KRMN VA87 KHEF
2VA9 3VA1 KIAD KJYO
3VA5 KGAI KCGS
KDCA KDAA

The place is huge and Ive landed at all but one or two of these. Very much worth checking out.

Brilliant idea thank you for that list. I did think about adding airports to the list and did start at Barcelona which has 2 airports and 1 airfield then I got to L.A and there were just too many to list the way I was doing it what with the Airport name and Code I got a bit daunted by it all and just wanted to push out the Top PG List in the format that @Baracus250 suggested. But the way you’ve listed them, and the shear size of Washington D.C and the amount of airports there, I think I will add “airports in PG area” to the Top PG List now.

I’m also toying with the idea of adding Payware Airports and City (enhancement packs) to the list as well but I think it might be a bit too much… although suggestions that people have made is the past have helped me spend a fair bit on addons that have greatly improved my flying experience  So I’ll see about implementing that too.

Thanks again for your Washington List. That saves me quite a bit of time. Lots of other places will be easier as they only have a few Airports.

My tip would be to keep it simple. A list of the best pg areas is great to have, it’s not hard to find local airports etc.

How about adding a link to a Google Sheet after each rank table, which goes to a separate ‘sheet’ in the same document. So you’d have 4 sheets in the doc, replicating the city names again but then you can have all the airport information in rows and have much more space and control over the layout to fit all the extra info in.

Also people could use the text search to easily find what they are looking for and it’s easy for you to manage all in one place. And you can expand it over time without needing to change the links at the forum.

I was going to try and see what it looked like first…but…

@Baracus250 has a brilliant idea that I think might be a better option. That way I could even add Freeware airports available too as well as other things.

Thanks for your input guys. Will have a play around with it and see what I come up with :+1:

I’ve checked out Bari, Italy now. Pretty good! I will give it a solid 8/10.

PG quality is a bit “mixed” shall we say, definitely not the best. But the area is HUGE. Loads of smaller dense little towns far from each other and interesting countryside between (looks like a lot of covered growing areas for something… I dare not guess what!).

It’s not like usual Italian style architecture though. Must be a more recently developed area. There is nothing much of an “old town” I could find. A bit (in 2 locations), but it’s not the usual terracotta affair.

There are loads of little bays with stuff going on around the marinas and of course lots of churches lol.

Interesting to explore a more modernized Italian city! Shame the whole area is so flat or it could have got a 9/10 (if you overlook the wonkier PG or stay above 1k ft!).

Thanks for suggesting this. I’ve been making a google doc list with all the Airports in PG areas. I’ve also added the Payware Airports and Scenery Addons available for these in the list. The “Airports in PG areas” list will be added to the list of “Top PG Areas to Fly in” sometime tomorrow after a little more editing :smirk:

I’ve taken what you said on board and I completely agree with you.

It would have made the current list too busy and as you say it’s easy enough to find the Airports etc, but as @Baracus250 suggested having google doc list and the link to it would allow people to view it if they so wished.

I’ll also be adding a few more PG areas that have been discovered by other users and myself to an update tomorrow instead of Sunday.

Thanks for that brilliant review. I’ll add it to the list for tomorrows update :+1:
