Who is behind Flightsim.to?

Hi guys, just out of curiosity, does someone knows who is behind the website flightsim.to? according to the internet websites with .to at the end are belonging to the kindom of tonga! interesting.. anyways, just wanted to say this is the best website i have ever come across with! special thanks to Tonga and to those administrators behind the scenes!

Tonga owns that top level domanin extension, and they probably just sell it to whoever to make money. My personal website is on a .cc domain, from the Cocos Islands.

In their about section it says:
“Who Runs It?
No company. No investor. Flightsim.to is run by a handful of enthusiasts of the flight simulation community - just like you!”

Here is some info on the actual domain registration FLIGHTSIM.TO

The Cloudflare entries are just Content Data Network balancers designed to push often accessed web site elements as close as possible to potential visitors in order to speed up the site loading and offload network burden on the hosting environment.

If you want more information, you can make inquiries at the Registrar below, although I don’t think they’ll release any client information to anyone unless there was a valid reason.

Either way it’s the best site for FS2020 freeware.

It’s a great resource and so far doesn’t carry any advertising or premium paid for features which does make you wonder how it is funded

I don’t care who runs it or how they fund it. IMHO it’s by far the best MSFS freeware site out there. Like any site that allows anyone to publish, it will have garbage on it. But there’s a lot of great stuff.

And for me the best part is the tracking of add-on versions, so you always know when newer versions of your mods are available.

All I know is that those dudes are awesome. The scenery map is genius.

Emailed flightsim.to in August asking them if they would need any financial support and Christopher told me they were/are all good.

Glad to see they are prospering.

Plus the Scenery map
what an awesome way to locate addons for the area you’re about to fly to.
Sadly sites like flightsim.com and avsim that used to be the go-to place are in decline - flightsim dot com particularly is like they lost the admin password somewhere in the 1990’s and they cannot modernise the site.

Thats intresting! Good luck chasing in 2021!

Yeah, it’s seriously pukka. (Translation for foreigners: It’s very good).

If Microsoft ever revisit the idea of a marketplace section for freeway
all they’d need to do is put in a weblink to flightsim.to.

Flightsim.to became to me the best freeware add-one website, its UI, its mod manager
I will be happy to donate to it as soon they open the donations

exactly! the mod manager is pretty cool and useful! i would also donate!

found them! these are the heros:

I’ve never seen a website that’s as logical and easy to use as flightsim.to. So many features and neatly organized. Love the mod manager.

With 1GB+ add-ons like Gatwick, glad to hear they are able to cover CDN costs.
